This is 'This Just In'

You're reading "This Just In," CNN's new news blog.

You’ll find all the breaking news of the day here, from big stories like earthquakes and elections to interesting notes on the naming of the world’s richest man and Charlie Sheen’s return to his sitcom.

There’ll be posts from yours truly and the staff of CNN at large to give you the latest from the CNN Wire, plus the scoops and interviews and insight that make this a really fun and interesting place to be. You’ll know when we have live streams of events and videos of news can be posted within minutes of them coming in. Whatever confirmed information we're hearing and reporting is what you'll be reading and watching.

We aim to look far and wide at what you and the rest of the Web community are interested in and talking about with features like Web Pulse - which takes a look at the collective conversation of the internet according to Google trends, Twitter, etc. This is also the place to find out who the day’s Most Intriguing People are and there’s easy access to our Twitter account @cnnbrk.

We are essentially in "beta mode" right now, so this is a great time to let us know what you think. You can comment on every post, so get to it.

Gotta go now, news is breaking.

I am having difficulty understanding why CNN reporters, particularly Soledad treat people who have chosen to ride-out the storm as if they are heroes. These people should be fined. I have no respect for those who have chosen to put their lives and those of their children in harms way. What a lack of judgement of these people and of CNN by encouraging such behavior!

You are exactly right! It's crazy that Clark Howard will remark at a 2 year old being evacuated off a roof that "children are resilient". It's INSANE! They should be asking why these people chose to disregard repeated warnings and mandatory evacuations. They needlessly put first responders at risk because of their stupidity!

I'm still not buying the pasta and tuna fish common man as positioned by Mrs. Romney. Wasn't Mitt's dad head of AMC? I guess George didn't help his kids. Two degrees from Harvard. Get real,

Rachel, maybe you don't know the whole story.
Mitt Romney gave his entire inheritance to charity.
He inherited nothing from his father.

Yes, they built the lives they have.
It could have failed just as easy as it was successful.
Have we gotten to a place in America that no one can believe a man can build a successful business?

Maybe just maybe he has a talent and abiltiy not seen in many men?
Certainly not in Obama, who has NEVER met a payroll.

He has done well and he should not have to apologize for success.

I want to know why the 2nd Marine Division is not at least enroute to Libya. The attack on our legation was an attack on America, just the same as the Twin Towers. Every thing inside the fence around that facility is sovereign American soil. An attack on any diplomatic unit anywhere in the world is an attack on America, and an act of war. It is time for the "Big Stick" to be swung.

Don't be stupid, it would take 40 divisions to pacify a nation the size of Libya which also has totally porous borders with at least 4 other Islamic countries. The US cannot take on the planet, even 3 pieces at a time and your kind of thinking got us in the soup originally.

Put your big boy pants and big girl dresses on and quit looking for someone/something to blame for all the attacks! These attacks on the US are not about a video, the video is just an excuse. it was 9-11 and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it was premeditated...they just didn't run out of their house after watching YouTube, pick up a rocket launcher and start a protest, right? I saw a photo of our Americans being dragged through the streets by these mobs and it sent chills down my spine. These jihadist / radicals / extremists / terrorists are just wicked!
And why does every caption to a picture have to explain that "the violence depicted here is in response to an anti-Islam video"? Do you think this would happen after an anti-Chrisitan, anti=Budhist or anti-Jewish video? NO! Have the jihadists ever said anything wrong about America or Christians or jews or non-Muslims? YES! These people HATE us. Its written in their Qurans to behave this way! And we are letting them get away with this kind of behavior, hoping they might finally shut up and go away...but its never going to happen!
Wake up America – we've let the extremists overthrow every Middle Eastern country’s government over the past year and a half...this is OUR fault! Are we really THAT stupid? Stand up America...cause if you don't, we are going to get run out of town and run out of this land!
Your choice...are you going to find someone to blame it on and go back to your barstools or are you going to start reporting the truth and start behaving responsibly and start standing up for what’s truly important (not your pathetic birth control pills for crying out loud)!

"Its written in their Quran"? Can you please quote something from the Quran with the context in what it was addressed at? You are simply ignorant. Good luck with blaming about 2 billion muslims out there and disgracing their religious book. Yes, Islam is for peace. And the extremist version originates from Saudi Arabia. Oh, can you remind me who is protecting the corrupt Royal Family in Saudia?

There are about 300 million Americans including all faiths or none. There are 1.6 billion Muslims and they are the fastest growing religion due to the huge number of children that each family has. So it borders on insanity to demand that we, the US, force the Muslims, as a global group, to do anything. We should have trashed Iraq, drove the AQ bunch out of Afghanistan and got the hell out. And we have no horse in the race in Syria either. Among other things, the Christians are backing Assad, so if we support the FSA, which is filled with the same kind of crazies as attacked in Benghazi. we will certainly be killing Christian children. Want to try to explain that at Sunday church?

Early this week prior to the attacks their was an interview done by a reporter with the brother of one of the leaders of a subversive group in middle east who stated that his brother was offered peace to the USA in exchange for prisoners. The reporter proced to ask if the USA did not comply would we have more attacks; the individual seemed to suggest that it was a possibility. I was disturbed with the interview and I wonder who was the reporter and could that reporter could be interviewed.

I am curious... has anybody considered that the extremists would create their own 'insulting' video just to incite their brothers and sisters in the Muslim world? I hear a lot of arguments that it is "not the entire Muslim world but the work of a small group of extremists' whenever there is a crisis and violence is perpitrated. Pictures seem to tell a different story as well the actions of US politicians pandering to the Muslim masses. They know it as well as everyone else... the deep-rooted hatred is shared by almost all Muslims (and other religious organizations too) and when push comes to shove the true nature of the 'tribal-like' primal racism in the name of religion. The true 'enemy' is organized religion and the first victims are often free-will and intellect. Peace.

Coyotes live in the urban valleys of San Francisco. Cats disappear daily, and coyotes have been seen brazenly walking down the streets in Diamond Heights with their fresh prey in their mouths in broad daylight.

I was raised in the suburbs (back then it was almost rural) and we didn't have coyotes in our driveways like we do now. Something needs to be done.

Hi there! Quick question that's completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My weblog looks weird when viewing from my iphone 4. I'm trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to resolve this issue.

If you have any suggestions, please share. Many thanks!

First off I would like to say great blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your head before writing. I've had a hard time clearing my
mind in getting my thoughts out. I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the
first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost just trying to figure out how to
begin. Any ideas or tips? Thanks!Watch Gossip
