"The strike comes in response to the deadly rocket firing toward Israel over the past 24 hours, which resulted in the death of a foreign national in Netiv Ha'asara earlier today," Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.
The statement was referring to a worker from Thailand who was killed when a rocket fired from Gaza landed inside southern Israel.
Five tunnels used for smuggling and terror activities and a weapons manufacturing site were the targets of the air strike, the IDF said.
"Direct hits were identified," the military statement said. However, no other details were provided on what was hit.

I am all for Palestinian State but as you know Palestinians many times refused the independent state. WHY? Palestine should have a proper demo-cracy (the people-to rule) i.e. A state of Israel should be eliminated and make place for proportional representation of all "palestinians" (jewish, arabic, etc.) at all levels of government.

Israel has the right like any other sovereign country to defend itself. The majority of the country supports a two-state solution. Does the majority of the palestinians support this? No wonder the missiles keep falling.

I'm surprised Israel is practising so much restraint. I would have completely wiped out the violent Islamic terrorist threat from Gaza years ago. It's bad enough that these Palestinian terrorists are squatting on Israeli land. The fact that they keep attacking and killing civilians is irredeemable. The evil of Islam is undeniable.

Israel is doing what any country would do to save its people. Furthermore, Israel has returned territory. What did they get in return? More terrorists trying to get into Israel and rockets directed to largely populated cities like Bersheva, Ashkelon, and Very Close Tel Aviv.
The situation is clear to the World that has eyes and can see. Israel is a respected, democratic country, and it has an enemy, who its purpose, besides terrorism, is not clear.
I would advised that the settlements program keep going and Israel be always protected at any cost.
