Pakistani police have foiled a plot by militants to attack several locations in Islamabad frequented by foreigners, Islamabad Police Chief Bin Yamin told CNN.
Yamin said Noor Jahan and Rashid Bakhtar were arrested Monday at a hotel just outside Islamabad. The two were former members of Pakistan's paramilitary force, Yamin said, and worked for Qari Hussein, the notorious trainer of suicide bombers for the Pakistani Taliban.
Yamin said the two planned to attack the Serena Hotel, a luxury five-star hotel in Islamabad, the French Club, a restaurant inside Islamabad's embassy enclave, an Islamabad girls' school and a police station. The two were also linked to the suicide bombing of the World Food Program in Islamabad and the suicide attack in front of the Naval academy last year.
