American jailer was target of Juarez killings, officials say

An American jailer was the target in the shooting deaths of three people with ties to the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, Mexican officials said.

The jailer, Arthur Redelfs, and his wife, Lesley Ann Enriquez, were killed in a drive-by shooting in Juarez earlier this month. Enriquez was an employee of the U.S. Consulate in that city.

A suspect arrested in the case gave new details on the high-profile killings, Mexican federal authorities said in a statement.

A jailer is another term for corrections officer. He worked at a Jail(corrections facility).

He was an officer at a prison in El Paso where the Barrio Azteca drug gang was formed. When this story first came out and they mentioned that he was an officer at a prison in El Paso my first thought was that he may have been the target and not his wife, who worked at the consulate. He must have done something that they didn't like at the jail – more than likely he refused bribe money or something like that.

This scum bag who they caught says that an unnamed leader of the Barrio Azteca had him and others searching the city for Redelf's white SUV and he spotted it leaving a child's birthday party. He then trailed it, reporting back to the actual hitmen who caught up and took over. This would explain why the other white SUV leaving the same party was also attacked.

These guys have absolutely no respect for human life and will do anything that their "leaders" tell them to. They are so disconnected from reality that their victims are no longer humans, rather they are targets and objectives. They need to be wiped out. The Mexican Government needs to stop playing around and get down to business. If they need help from US Special OPs or agents then they need to take a big slice of humble pie and ask for it.

When they were just killing each other it was one thing, but now that the amount of innocent victims is rising its time for something to change. The Mexican people will not continue to live under this oppression forever. If something doesn't happen soon to end this violence, the Mexican Government very well might find itself in a Civil War – one that they likely will not win.

Makes me wonder if the C.O. caught someone smuggling drugs or other contraband into his jail, and was killed in retaliation for that?

Legalize drugs and all your problems are over. (Use the tax money to fund rehab, prevention and information campaigns).
