China agrees to discuss sanctions against Iran

China has agreed to negotiate possible sanctions against Iran over Tehran's failure to comply with international regulations involving its nuclear energy program, the U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations said Wednesday.

Ambassador Susan Rice told CNN that the Chinese commitment represented progress because China previously has been unwilling to agree to stronger sanctions against Iran sought by the United States and other allies.

"China has agreed to sit down and begin serious negotiations in New York" with other permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, Rice said.

Sanctions are a waste of time and energy. To even talk about sanctions is silly. Iran is not, will not, and never has paid any attention to the world. Isreal will have to stop them. Force is the only language that Iran understands. Look at what they do to their own people, who disagree with them! Sure, go ahead and talk, and talk, and talk.......

It's about time! Thank you, China for taking this more seriously. Letting the crazies in the Iranian government have nuclear power is a scary thought, especially for the Israel. Even though they probably deserve some of the things they would get, you can't got about just blowing up everyone!

Not long ago , everyone wanted to blame President George W. Bush for everything that was wrong with the world.
I would tell people that ...."perhaps if YOU had the same facts to work with.......then You might make the same decisions that he has to make " !!!
Although I differ with the liberal political agenda tha our country is now facing,...........and in all fairness....I would have to say...... " Let President Obahma make the decisions based on the information that he has to work with " ! ! !

china is to agree to sanctions. well its a choice american or iranian business, not really much to consider. but question is – will they act for real, or pay lip service. the chinese are nototious for saying one thing, and doing something else. sneakily ! buit at least they are now talking on the right wavelength.

It all academic....Israel has a pretty good intelligence apparatus...they know where most of these complexes are and will most likely damage or destroy each of them if solid actions are not taken. The regime in Iran is very hostile toward Israel with the current President making claims of wiping Israel off the map and that the holocaust a hoax. If you've noticed relations between the US and Israel are at an all time low. Israel has in the past, worked with the US in showing restraint, but with the relationship somewhat sour, the clock ticking, and the info coming in that there may be several other sites in Iran that have not been disclosed... add to the fact that an Iranian Nuclear scientist has defected and most likely reinforced the belief that Iran does have a clandestine atomic weapons program, one can very easily see this thing flaring up if the perm members of the UN don't take some concrete steps. Odds are though that Russia, who is selling, building and supporting Iran's "peaceful" power program and China who has cold relations with the US will most likely not agree on any concrete sanctions that have any effect...so, don't be shocked when you see the Israeli military go in and do it alone. Then we'll have an even bigger mess on our hands.

Wouldn't it be nice if politics weren't broken down in to "sports team" like parties? Wouldn't it be nice if we the people actually got together away from the banners of "liberal" and "conservative" and just made some decisions to really help the nation? Wouldn't it be nice if those in power hadn't manufactured an under-class that is easily manipulated, by removing huge funds from the education system and forcing people to either spend the money for private school or suffer from being part of the low class? Wouldn't it be nice if this country WAS really For the people, rather than for the money? Wouldn't it be nice if I had enough education and knowledge to move my entire family the hell out of here so I could stop having to pretend that Im not surrounded by those who only see what they want to rather than actually use their brain? Questions, all questions

USA on a mission to brainwash china... Possibly sanctions will follow. After that a war? If they drag us Europeans to war, I'll be really mad.

By provoking Iran, we are inviting a conflict between Iran and Israel. Lets be aware that if the US bomb Iran, Iran will retaliate on Israel. Iran needs a big win, especially after Ahmadenijad last election. Attacking Israel even with a slight advantage and a minor win before the world stop the conflict will elevate Iran in the Arab world, and to the Palestinians.
