Pope's preacher compares abuse fury to antisemitism

Pope Benedict XVI's personal preacher on Friday compared the fury aimed at Catholic leadership because of sexual abuse within the church to aspects of antisemitism.

Noting that Easter falls in the same week as the Jewish holiday of Passover this year, the Rev. Raniero Cantalamessa said, "This makes us make a thought to our Jewish brothers. They know from experience what it means to be victims of the collective violence, and because of this they are able to recognize the reoccurring symptoms."

He then quoted what he said was a letter from a Jewish friend. "I am following with disgust the violent and concentric attack against the church, the pope and all the faithful from the whole world," the letter said. "The use of the stereotype, the passage from the responsibility and personal wrong to that of the whole reminds us of the most shameful aspects of antisemitism."

Cantalamessa, preacher of the pontifical household, made the remarks at a Good Friday commemoration.

Listen these guys are all guility and touch kids. The secret is .. and there is a HUGE secret, but the secret is that a long time ago child molesters in the Church promoted eachother to keep their secrets safe. If you did not molest children the people higher up would not promote you but no one knew this and thats why they are all child molesters the higher you go up. The Irish came out and appologized for almost everyone because they all do it!!!!!!

ONE OTHER THING!!! People are automaticaly saying the reason why the Pope and the higher authorities under him are hiding these thousands of child abuse cases from the publics eye is to protect their religion. WAKE UP!! IF THEY WANTED TO PROTECT THEMSELVES THEY WOULD HAVE DECIDED TO TURN THEM IN RIGHT AWAY.

These guys say sin is the ultimate bad in their eyes when Africans use condoms (Africa has the most horrific number of aids cases in the world and you and the world know this already)

These guys say to sin is human and we need to forgive when they get CAUGHT molesting children.

The united states is working with the Vatican since Bush was given an award by the Pope during his Presidency and nothing will ever happen from these horrible events finally brought to the publics eye.

The Vatican and Capitalism are like the morter and brick that build the ghettos of the world. That last part is my own formulated opinion.

There is no way the Pope could not have known about what is going on. He grew up in the system that is the Catholic church and he is the ultimate product of it . No one passes through and up the church hierarchy without becoming apart of what makes it work. As a boy I heard Catholic friends of mine talk about the sex parties in their school where priests were present. The church continues it's abominable history of lies and cover ups. Enough is enough!

Rev 18:1,2 1 After these things I saw another angel descending from heaven, with great authority; and the earth was lighted up from his glory. 2 And he cried out with a strong voice, saying: “She has fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen, and she has become a dwelling place of demons and a lurking place of every unclean exhalation and a lurking place of every unclean and hated bird! 3 For because of the wine of the anger of her fornication all the nations have fallen [victim], and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the traveling merchants of the earth became rich due to the power of her shameless luxury.”
Babylon the Great is the world empire of FALSE RELIGION, and this my friends has fallen.

These acts were committed by the PRIESTS. The CHURCH never did anything. Once again the media is blowing everything out of proportion.
It is a blow to the Church, but the Church and the Pope did not commit these crimes.
This is like when that cop was arrested for DUI.

victoria, dear, I couldn't have said it better myself! What they have done and are doing brings shame to God and people quickly think that God has something to do with this when in fact; it is the forces of darkness that these fools have been hiding behind! Besides, I believe, for all we know, that the letter is false! How can anyone defend a crime? If Jewish defends them, they are as guilty as they are! This is the time when all religion needs to open up their eyes and think about having a relationship with God, since their religion has failed! God said that He is looking for those who will worship in spirit and in truth. No just on Sundays, but through out our lives.

I am a mother of a child who was abused by a criminal (priest) for 3 years. This criminal sat at my dinner table with my family and me while he was molesting my son. Years later my son committed suicide......others came forward and this criminal was stripped of his priesthood......that's all the church did. Then they set him up in a nice home, with all the pleasures you are now enjoying. This criminal destroyed my family, and I will die with the pain inside of me.........the "church" knows exactly what it's doing. They don't care, because they are just one big business. Money is the name of their game. Not God.

Gimme a break! These church guys will say ANYTHING to try to turn the discussion away from the real problem, which is the church's apparently global practice of hiding, covering up and enabling men to use the priesthood for access to sexual victims.

I cannot believe that the catholic church leaders are defending pedopliles. This is a slap in the face of God. Pope Benedict is a disgrace to the white robes he wears. Pedophilia is a sin and a crime, Being a priest should not exempt these criminals from prosecution
