World update: U.S. and Russia to sign new nuclear treaty

Arms treaty - Leaders of the U.S. and Russia are gathered in Prague to sign the new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START.) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has threatened to withdraw from the treaty if Washington's missile defense plan impacts the effectiveness of Russia's nuclear forces.

Audience with the pope - The pope will hold his regular weekly audience at the Vatican in Rome on Wednesday with signs of regularity returning to the heart of Catholicism despite the ongoing turmoil of the sex abuse scandal.

Brazil floods - The death toll from heavy rains and flood in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and surrounding areas has reached 102, officials say. Some 287 people have been rescued.  A record-breaking 11.3 inches of rain fell in Rio within 24 hours.

Photojournalist killing - The family of Reuters photographer Saeed Cmagh - one of two journalists killed in an attack by a U.S. helicopter gunship in Iraq in 2007 - is speaking to CNN and sharing their thoughts about the incident. Read the full story.

Kyrgyzstan clashes - Some 200 protesters have clashed with police in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, outside the opposition headquarters. The clashes took place as the opposition had announced it would hold a news conference after police and activists clashed in the western Kyrgyz city of Talas and several opposition leaders were arrested.
