Pirates hijack three Thai fishing vessels

Pirates have hijacked three Thai fishing vessels off the coast of Somalia, the European Union Naval Force Somalia said Tuesday.

Pirates captured the vessels Sunday about 1,200 nautical miles (1,380 miles or 2,222 km) east of the Somali coast, 600 nautical miles (690 miles or 1,111 km) outside the area in which the EU group operates.

The force said it had confirmed that all 77 Thai crew members were safe. The vessels were heading toward Somalia.

I agree. This is extortion for terrorism. Why do we deal with this. Take them out and end it. The world bargains with criminals? All the ransoms do is provide them with better means to terrorize the Ocean off the coast. If a country/company is willing to deal with the pirates, they are contributing to worldwide terrorism and should be shut off. Keep the UN out of it as the UN is a big joke and treat piracy as the crime it is.
