I've had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Torn a few times socially and I have been saddened to read the continuing saga of his legal trouble. I hate to see him made fun of – he's a great actor and a very nice man despite his alcoholism and now, I fear, his dementia. The man just needs the strength to stay sober, which would be easier if the public showed some compassion. Best wishes, Rip. I hope the rehab is going to stick. It must suck being 79 and in failing health with his big personality, and I get why it's been very tough for him.
