Tito Ortiz denies assaulting girlfriend Jenna Jameson

Sobbing before a row of cameras just hours after his release on bond on a domestic violence charge, mixed martial artist Tito Ortiz said Monday night he denied assaulting his girlfriend, former porn star Jenna Jameson.

"I speak from my heart," Ortiz told reporters at a North Hollywood news conference.

Ortiz, 35, was arrested at his Huntington Beach home Monday morning and released on bond by late afternoon, police said. He was charged with assaulting Jameson, 36, his girlfriend and the mother of their 1-year-old twin sons.

"Tito Ortiz never laid a hand on Jenna, never," his lawyer Chip Matthews told reporters.

Matthews contended the problem in their home is not domestic violence, but prescription drug addiction.  "Jenna Jameson has been fighting a battle with Oxycontin addiction for well over a year," Matthews said. "For Tito and his family, this has been an uphill battle."

Efforts to reach Jameson regarding Matthews' comments were not immediately successful.

I can't believe some of the comments that are like "Women always do this". People who say things like that are equally as guilty in hurting women. If you people knew how many women are abused by their significant others and don't tell anyone, just take it out of fear...

Also Jenna isn't the one who called 911, her father did after what he witnessed. And as an MMA fan I've seen Tito lie so much and he honestly believes his lies. The guy has difficulty telling the truth, I'm sure a lot of people remember the post fight conference for his fight with Forrest Griffin where he came up with a ton of BS to make excuses for his loss. For anyone who doesn't know about that just watch the video of his arrest. The paparazzi asks him if he's being arrested and while he's being taken away in handcuffs and put in the back of a cruiser he says "No". It's really hard for that guy to put 2 honest words together. That's why Jenna's story has a bit more credibility in my opinion, her father even later said he likes Tito.

Either way, the guilty party, Tito or Jenna should face some consequences and get help for their problems and try to work it out for the kids, anyone who has seen these two together can see how much they love each other and it's really sad for both of them.

I will say here what I said when Bullock shacked up with James.

Be careful girl, you might just get what you asked for. In Bullock's case it was merely a badboy biker, but for Jameson it seemed she wanted a brawler.

As a few people have mentioned, Tito is a championship level fighter in one of the most brutal fighting leagues in the world.

Most ordinary people have no idea how strong a guy like Tito really is. Here's a bit of perspective: I'm a big guy and stronger than average. If I were to hit an interior door, I could put a big dent in it, or maybe bit of a hole. Conversely, a guy like Tiito doing the same thing, would rip the whole door off it's hinges and send it flying across the room. If you get a chance, watch the MMA episode of that show Fight Science. That show demonstrated how these guys can inflict injury more serious than a car wreck. Single strikes that can kill ordinary people who don't have the defensive layers of muscle mass they do.

I'm not any kind of athlete, but I have to be extremely carefly with my fiancee, just because she's a tiny gal, and I'm a big guy. I could just turn around quickly with my hand on my head, and be in danger of knocking her over with my arm. If I ever actually tried to hit her, it would result in very serious injuries. The dynamic is similar with a guy like Tito and a gal like Jenna.

So in summary, if he was angry enough to hit her, or even just push her, she wouldn't be driving with that arm, or closing doors with it, or carrying big objects to her car (as was seen in the videos).

Hey Alex, No one has to "register themselves as a deadly weapon". That is an urban legend which was carried over from the 60's in boxing where they would have police officers on hand before a fight to "register" the fighters. It was a publicity stunt and was in no way legally binding. I cannot believe that idiotic rumor persists to this day.
Kev, I trained for over a year in Bangkok as well as I have in South Korea and elsewhere. I have sparred with many "world champ" caliber fighters. They are good and they are tough, but they are in no way supermen. I am forty and weak in the knees and not in as good of shape as I was when I was younger. I walloped a 210 lb (I'm 180) professional fighter from Denmark and sent him to to mat (it was just a routine sparring match, nothing serious) I seriously doubt that even a fighter in Ortiz's league could "rip the door clean off it's hinges". That would take incredible hulk strength and I haven't met anyone possessing that attribute in my 20 years of training. His is more than capable of messing up a small lady but lets be reasonable.
