The fierce debate over a new Arizona immigration law has spread to America's pastime as protesters plan to demonstrate against the city's baseball team on Thursday.
The protest will occur outside Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois, where the Arizona Diamondbacks will start a four-game series against the Chicago Cubs.
"America's favorite pastime will be hit with a reality check," the protest's organizers wrote on a Facebook page set up to publicize their rally. "Bring signs and banners to the protest."
By early Thursday morning, the Facebook group had more than 800 members.
The new Arizona law requires police to check whether a person is in the United States legally if there is a reason to suspect he or she isn't.
Critics say the law could foster racial profiling.
Along with the protest at Wrigley Field, the group said it is planning a protest march for May 1.

Your not and need to read more. Recent story USA today, farmers are hiring citizens to do field work. Secondly a study done by ICE , showed that of the illegal aliens arrested, only 6% worked the fields, where do you think the other 94 % worked.
look haters
all these illegals you guy want to throw out are
the ones picking the letuce ,tamatoes, onions, strawberries ,grapes, corn, almost all the fruit and vegtibles you eat
so either shut your mouth or stop eating
because i don't see you working out side picking food in 105 degrees

First change your screen name after all those spelling errors, the only reason that ILLEGALS are doing that work is because most farmers aren't going to do the paperwork to claim it on their taxes and pay under the table and way under minimum wage and the ILLEGALS can't complain to anyone about it
You know what would make the protest a "perfect" one?
Have the protesters sneak or force their way into the stadium, then start making demands for club seats and/or free hot dogs and drinks because not providing it would be "racist".
People might start to understand what this issue is REALLY about.
At a ballgame. I hope the protesters get what's coming to them.
Her name will live in history, right there with KKK leaders and other prominent racists
_________
I consider myself educated and the only KKK leader I can think of off the top of my head is David Duke. Prominent racists... can't think of any of them either. There goes your hypothesis.
A lot of ya’ll don’t get it…it’s not just about illegal’s its about racial profiling? What does an illegal person look like??? I’m a citizen of the US and will be very pissed off if I’m asked to show my id several times a day because I fit the description of an illegal?... who likes being pulled over by the police?
Keep Coming Mexicanos! (& have a tequila)
... THEY ARE CRIMINALS! Why are we protesting this???
Whatever happened to the idea of a national ID card!!! If police pull you over for whatever reason and you have a national ID card, you're free to go!!! If you don't, then show your papers!!! Regardless of your color, race, etc. Id card holders continue on their merry way, else show your papers!!!
Mark, they're not just IDing everyone who looks Mexican, and they're certainly not pulling anyone over just to check. Have you read anything about the bill other than Democrats screaming "racial profiling"? It just requires legal immigrants to carry their proof. Don't you have to carry a license on you when you drive? Same thing. That's it.
I completely agree with all the comments emphasizing the obvious illegal status of millions of immigrants in this country. Also, I agree that everyone should be subject to US laws and regulations. It's wrong for illegal immigrants to enjoy rights without obligations.
But in this particular case, these millions of immigrants hold rightful and honest jobs. Positions they earned either because they were willing to accept a lower pay or no one else wanted them. For example, data from the National Agricultural Workers Study (NAWS) by the Department of Labor suggests that more than 80% of the workers in the sector are illegal immigrants. Can you imagine what would happen to this $100 billion industry if labor availability was cut short by 80%? Now think of the service, hospitality and manufacturing industries.
Abusing the system by being illegal is not a solution, but neither it is to deport them. Middle ground has to be found or in the end both sides will end up worse than they are right now.
I certainly hope WE AMERICANS do not put up with any kind of demonstration, ANYWHERE in AMERICA that has to do with ILLEGALS. They are here Illegally, they take take take, and now they are worried they might be caught and sent back to where they belong.
God help us if we continue to let them take over.
One of the weaknesses of the Internet is the ability of a very small minority to APPEAR to have as much influence as the vast majority. No matter how many people post viewpoints in support of illegal aliens, the vast, vast majority of Americans support Arizona's new law. Now, let's ask a different question: Why haven't California, Texas and New Mexico passed similar legislation? Write to your governors and insist they get to work NOW!
Here's an idea, most of the people protesting will be illegal, pick them up and send them back.
What if your parents brought you to this country when you were 4 yrs old. You went on to College got a Bachelors degree and all those little things Americans value. But you remain Illegal.....what then? Go back to Mexico and get stuck Violence. Americans buy drugs from Mexico. Mexico is the producer and America is their top consumer. Politicians, Government officials know this, I know this and your all your friends know this. My point is this. If your a gang banger, and are illegal ,then yes you deserve to be somewhere else, prison I would say. But if your here illegally, and are a good person, hardworking, well we should help you out. This country was built on people migrating over here and running out the Indians...shouldn't we have some sympathy. Anyhow, God bless everyone hope one day most of you stop taking pride in "your country" and develop some love.
