Police arrested Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez at an immigration rally outside the White House on Saturday.
Gutierrez, a Democrat, was among a group of protesters arrested by police in front of the White House.
The protesters wore T-shirts that read, "ARREST ME NOT MY FAMILY" and "ARREST ME NOT MY FRIENDS."

Good job Congressman Guitierrez! That is true representation. All the tea baggers can just go away! This law is UNCONSTITUTIONAL! It's called the 4th Amendment: Right against unwarranted search and seizure. Last time i checked,a judge did not sign a warrant for any of this. And second of all. Why was the congressman arrested. What happened to the 1st Amendment right to freedom of assembly, and right to petition the government. In this matter, the police are wrong. And this new law is putting the people of Arizona under a police state. So much for freedom. Is this what you wanted 1/2 term Gov. Palin? Is this what you want GOP? Is this what you want TEA party? Do you really want to take away peoples liberties and rights under the constitution? I thought you guys were the ones protesting stuff like this. I guess not.
I wish all you people who think this is no big deal and it's cut and dry would get stopped and detained by the cops. It's real easy for you to think no big deal as long as Hispanics are the one's who's civil rights got trampled. Let's see how obliging you are when it happens to you. How is this suppose to stop illegal immigrants from coming in???

So a congressman from Illinois was protesting the potential arrest of criminal trespassers in Arizona by demanding to be arrested in Washington, DC?
Tell me how that even makes a bit of sense? If the State of Florida passed a statute to limit the speed of vehicles to no more than 25 miles an hour and I believe this violates the freedom of people who like to drive fast, why would I travel from the NYC area to the White House in hopes of being arrested while protesting Florida's law? The illegal alien issue has pushed the Proggies over the edge of sanity. Now you have it Gutirez clearly demonstates that he has no repsect for the law. He was arrested and he advocates for law breakers now you see who they really are.
The policeman who arrested Congressman Gutierrez took it "LITERALLY" what the T-shirt read, "ARREST ME NOT MY FAMILY" and "ARREST ME NOT MY FRIENDS." Someone needs to educate the cop about "form of expression, metaphor, figure of speech".

Equating illegal immigration to the civil rights movement is shameful. As long as their is no profiling in administering this law (which AZ is doing), there should be no issue. The immigration "reform" the governrment should be implementing is the enforcement of the laws already in place. Secure the borders and sanction employers who hire illegals first! That should be the "reform" the government should be looking to enact!

This is not about the illegal immigrants guys, it is about the US citizens who now need to prove they are citizens if suspected of being illegal by the way they LOOK. So if you have an accent, or look Mexican, YOU Have to prove you are here legally. Don't you get it, it is the legal resident that this law messes up!
