Fan Tasered after jumping onto field during Phillies game

A police officer points his Taser gun at a fan before subduing him at the Phillies game.

It may not be a surprise anymore when a fan hops the fence at a baseball game and rushes the field. But on Monday night a crowd of more than 40,000 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia witnessed a first - a fan subdued with a Taser after rushing the field.

During Monday night's game against the St. Louis Cardinals, a teen wearing a red Phillies National League Champions shirt began running around the outfield waving what appeared to be a towel or another shirt.

A Philadelphia Police Department officer chased him, pointing a Taser gun pointed directly at the outfield intruder. After a few moments the fan was Tasered and fell on the outfield grass.

If you were watching the game on TV, you would have missed this part - networks generally pan away or go to a commercial so other fans aren't encouraged to try to get screen time.

"This is the first time that a Taser gun has been used by Philadelphia police to apprehend a field jumper," Phillies spokeswoman Bonnie Clark told CNN "The Police Department is investigating this matter and the Phillies are discussing with them whether in future situations this is an appropriate use of force under these circumstances. That decision will be made public."

Normally, when a fan runs onto the field members of security or police just tackle them.

Clark told CNN the 17-year-old male, who they would not name since he was a juvenile, will be charged with criminal trespass and other related offenses.

As the investigation into the matter continues, the story is continuing to pick up steam online with Web views of the video starting to go into "viral territory."

It wouldn't be the first Taser video to go viral. A University of Florida student who shouted "Don't tase me, bro," as he was arrested during a John Kerry forum became a catchphrase, bringing the student Internet fame with the video, which has nearly 5 million views, and sparked widespread discussion about the proper use of Tasers.

People commenting online appear to be drawing the conclusion too.

"I think he forgot his "Don't Tase Me Bro" shirt," one wrote as he Tweeted the YouTube video out to fans.

With havin so much written content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation? My website has a lot of completely unique content I've either written myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help protect against content from being ripped off? I'd really appreciate it.
