A section of Times Square was evacuated briefly Tuesday evening due to a suspicious package, according to the New York Police Department.
The area was at 48th Street and Broadway, NYPD said.

everytime someone forgets their garbage behind, they close of times square.
Once again Garbage from New Jersey,, messes up NYC
People in Israel deal with this all day long. it seems as though this is something we will have to live with the rest of our lives. I don't think this is something that will ever end to answer your questions.
It was a piizza box, apparently. Someone probably just threw it on the ground instead of throwing it in the garbage. Because one person could not throw their pizza box out and had to litter, there was a third evacuation.
Just drove through that area and we were thankful it wasn't closed at the time. And now just a bit later it is! WOW.

We need to keep being cautious. Don't be such Negative Nancy's. What if they kee doing this and crying wolf and we let our guard down. More of our fellow New Yorkers will be hurt and killed by a terrorist group. It is painful to see people complaining about this on here. Grow up and think of what the consequences would be!

People need to be vigilant of where they leave there things. It's certainly obnoxious when people find out the evacuation was caused by a cooler of water, yet evacuations don't have to happen if people don't leave stuff on the street. Help everyone out, especially the NYPD, so they can focus on real threats and dangers.
Hopefully this is nothing.
Whatever the case, better safe than sorry.
