9 killed in suspected U.S. drone strike in Pakistan

Nine people were killed Friday night when a suspected U.S. drone struck in Pakistan's North Waziristan near the border with Afghanistan, two local officials said.

The dead consisted of two children, two women and five men, Pakistani intelligence and administrative officials said.

The U.S. military routinely offers no comment on reported drone attacks. However, it is the only country operating in the region known to have the ability to launch missiles from drones, which are controlled remotely.

What a fall for Mawali, from a proud independent state to a stupid client. No wonder they know of no real freedom and keep barking at America, a great defender of democracy and freedom.

It is now time to unite to stop the second wave of colonial agression in asia this time by usa. the last empire was overthrown starting 1947 after many sacrifices . it is imperative for all asian countries to band together as a bloc like nato so that never again will they attack with impunity - we need a visionary south asian leader like Gandhi who will unite all from the grassroots trans border with the simple message of ahimsa and civil disobedience , it has worked before and it will work again

IMHO – The US started the invasion just for OIL. They said it was WMD's. So they oust the leader, and militants start terrorism. Terrorist need to be dealt with and I do not see wrong in killing them. WHAT I do see wrong, is all these "safe in the armchair" commentors not giving a care about the loss of innocents. Sure it happens, but I bet you'd feel differently if you were living in that country and your innocent wife or kid got torn to shreds. Save your rah-rah USA bs rhetoric and have respect for innocent lives. They are people – just like you and I.

Pakistan has erased from their school history text book related to Indus valley civilization. It starts with conquest of Sind by Kassim and any local culture is inferior and need to be suppressed/replaced by Arab one.

Sanethinker, please ! Dont make our bellies burst with laughter by writing about the joke of the world – Pakistan ! Those animals are simply the arm-pit of the world. Traitors to the core. They take our Money and help Osama. They take our technology and give it to terrorists. They take the Cinese nukes and pretend they built it and give them to Iran. They train terrorists. They finance terrorists. They continuously fight with their neighbour. This pathetic failed state, should simply be taken over by China or Russia or India, so that they can be governed better

Len, India may never want to associate with them in any way in their current form. They are bidding camel to the core and do not have faintest link or appreciation to their ancestral culture. Politically they feel they are in between Gaza and west bank and sympathize with Chechnya/Bosnia and all issues concern in various Islamic world.

They think they have perfect religion propelling their country and west and other nations are stopping them from achieve its Utopian goal. They expect all Islamic nation has obligation to support them and have religious right to fight any nation not defined in u m m a h.

If there was sincere concern for innocent life, then 911 would never have happened. When someone bids they should be aware of consequences. There is no ideal world and ideal war. Come to senses.

This alliance should include all African South American and Asian nations with their combined global mutual defence treaty and multilateral cooperation along with a common currency and borderless travel will ensure the scrapping of all foreign bases and withdrawal of all foreign armies and prevention of miliatry invasions throughout the world
