[Updated at 8:00 p.m.] A drug charge has been dropped against Paris Hilton, who was detained Friday in South Africa on suspicion of marijuana possession, police said.
Paris Hilton appeared in a South African magistrate court Friday after
being detained earlier in the day on allegations of possessing marijuana, CNN affiliate ETV reported.

I don't have much respect for Paris, but after I found out the charges against her were dropped and her friend subsequently found guilty of possession, she sickens me. Way to go Paris....why admit the truth and take the consequences like an adult when you can simply use your money to have a patsy take your fall. Your disgusting at best.
Hilton appeared calm in court assuming, most likely correctly, that her fame and money would save her from any punishment at all for her crime.
