Regarding the unemployment benefits extensions; there is a small population of folks that truly deserve extensions of benefits. The vast majority of them have had it too good for too long. In many cases (not all) benefits are paying better than jobs the out there. Frankly there are plenty of jobs out there. Many people just don't want to work below their skill level. Places like Wal-Mart, McDonalds and other large chains are hiring all the time not to mention the folks that have skills that can be utilized to start their own businesses. The benefits exist to help those that become unemployed to allow time to regain some level of employment, not to live off benefits indefinitely. If the current folks that are expecting extensions lose their benefits and have no choice but to find work, guess what, they will find work!

I do not agree with your statement. I am out of work and in my area there are no jobs. Everyday that I search my area or look in my newspaper there are about 10 things in there, truck drivers and nursing. I do not have experience for either. I have two kids I need to support and unemployment is barely cutting it. I have lost my house, have debt, moved into an apartment and cant even afford to inspect or get tags for my vehicle. So now I also do not have a car! As for your opinion I think you are wrong!!

My fiancé has been out of work since the end of October. He was harassed out of his job by a boss because of his degree. He started collecting unemployment in November and recently ran out of benefits. He can't get an extension because our lovely Government is to busy paying their own pockets and having fun with their family on vacation to care about us. They can live in big houses and drive expensive cars but everyone else in this country are not important enough. This government can afford to bail out banks, car industry and other countries but they can't afford to help their own people who are struggling everyday. There are more people unemployed then what they are saying. And more are losing jobs everyday. My fiancé looks constantly and recently had to go back to school just to try to get an advantage. I am trying to find a job and can find one. What wrong with our country? Talk about irresponsible our government takes the cake.
