5.3 magnitude earthquake hits off coast of Oregon

The United States Geological Survey recorded a earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 off the coast of Oregon at 9:12 a.m. Wednesday, about 80 miles west-northwest of Barview, Oregon, and 197 miles southwest of Portland, Oregon.

The earthquake was about 6.2 miles (10 km) deep, making it a relatively shallow earthquake.

Lise Harwin, communications director for the Oregon Trail Chapter of the Red Cross, said the initial impact of the earthquake seemed minor. She said her agency has not been contacted for assistance.

No tsunami warning has been issued.

Albeit breif, this story is interesting because it makes me wonder if there will be more earthquakes in the region. BUT it has NOTHING to do with

    1. Politics
    2. Religion

Earthquakes off the Oregon coast are very common, I wonder why this one is making the news?

Did you really mean to say "urinates me"? Or "irritates me"? Just wondering, since you're complaining about language use.

This is a bad time for the U.S. Our U.S. astrological chart is heading into a few weeks of sudden bad news. It's been bad but it's about to get worse sadly... Not surprised by this be prepared for more and worse news. I'm not a negative person, this is just an honest warning from an astrologer.

I love Oregon. If the ground shakes, just hang on and roll with it.
Man is a but soft-shelled insect in the cosmos. A predator, a scavenger, a dirty parasitic creature hellbent on self-destruction. Earthquakes are God's trash compacter and proof that God knows to recycle.

Hey LOSERS... this article is about an earthquake off the coast of DEMOCRATIC Oregon, not about the landlocked REDNECK and Republican arm pit of America known as AZ.

Stick to the other article about the latest conspiracy theory you were programmed with from FOX and your dream that Palin will win the next election. It is hilarious to me to see the comments these racists are leaving. God hates AZ. AZ is being punished for being narrow minded and racist. The whole country needs a loser, so THANKS AZ! You make me smile!

I would probably be right in assuming that you are 13 or 14 years old. Either that or just immature. Anyway, how is Arizona racist? Is it because if someone is a criminal and illegal, they get deported? Oh and I suppose all the Hispanic Police officers in Arizona are racist against themselves. Right?

If we can get all the wetbacks into Caulifornia before it falls into the ocean, we can avoid all this immigration crap.
