Gulf well has leaked 4.9 million barrels of oil, scientists say

Scientists charged with determining the flow from the leaking BP well said Monday that roughly 4.9 million barrels of oil have seeped into the Gulf of Mexico,. Previously, the same group had put the total estimate of oil leaked from the well prior to it being capped on July 15 at between 3 million and 5.2 million barrels.

The moment the well was capped, scientists said some 53,000 barrels of oil per day were leaking from the well, while roughly 62,000 barrels of oil were likely seeping per day from the oil well at the start of the spill.

BP applied the banned in UK dispersant Corexit to the tune of 100 to 1 ratio. 2 million gallons of Corexit were used, 200 Million gallons of heavy Louisiana crude Oil gushed out with no more than 20 Million gallons of actual crude Oil recovered leaving 180 million gallons of toxic, poisonous and carcinogenic crude Oil plus 2 million gallons of toxic Corexit drifting around in the Gulf of Mexico and on the sea floor.

I want to put a question up. Are the Gulf of Mexico currents at a standstill?
News item…Oceanographic satellite data now shows that the Loop Current in the Gulf of Mexico has stalled as a consequence of the BP oil spill disaster. This according to Dr. Gianluigi Zangari, an Italian theoretical physicist, and major complex and chaotic systems analyst at the Frascati National Laboratories in Italy.
