Alex Rodriguez hits milestone 600th home run

Alex Rodriguez became the youngest player to hit 600 career home runs on Wednesday.

New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez has hit his 600th career home run - a two-run blast in the first inning against Toronto Blue Jays.

The homer, which landed on the net on top of monument park in Yankee Stadium, makes A-Rod the youngest and the seventh player to join the 600 club.

The milestone was a long-awaited one - with 46 at-bats between his 599th and 600th home runs.

Rodriguez now joins the elite company of Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey Jr. and Sammy Sosa.

You don't have to hate the Yankees to hate Arod is everything wrong about little spoiled pampered stars who cheat. Jeter on the other hand seems to represent more what is right with being an role model for the kids (who knows after Tiger fiasco though).

Why is th is to be celebrated???? Has be been drug tested lately? How many steroids did it take to hit the 600??? Guys and gals like this are no role models. They ought to be ashambed of themselves as should their fans to indirectly pay their salaries. What a freaking fraud sports are. The days of real athletes who relied on their own raw talent are GONE! It's so sad. It's just one more thing American has scrwed up. God, we can even play sports without cheating.

Show me a Dominican Republic player who hasn't cheated in some way or another (lied about age, juiced, etc.). I guess to get out of hopeless poverty you will do whatever it takes.

So A-Roid gets six hundred how nice. Was that with test tube one, or two? Listen the fact is baseball is boring to watch on TV I think, unless you got money on the game...but the stadium is different....these days stadiums are really well suited for women baseball fans I think...my wife loves going to the game, and she doesnt even understand baseball....they walk around with her friends....with my daughter...they drink, they go to the various clubs....and then come back in time to watch the mets lose, but hey it doesnt even bother them...in fact they mostly think the METS WON.

Let's have a team where EVERYONE is on steroids. Giant dudes with no testicles and huge heads. Make the parks a little bigger as well. Then at least we'd have a truthful experience. Until then, support your little league. At least it's a real game with people who have normal abilities. All of you baseball apologists who just want to see someone slam a ball out of the park are sadly lacking when it comes to the original concept of sportsmanship. Here comes the flames!!!

I agree man! I'd much rather see Ty Cobb play slap ball, than Barry Bonds hit one into the bay!

Yay for Little League – home of the 10 foot home run! (They over throw first, drop the ball at second, looking at dandilions at third, catcher trips over the bat at home and misses the throw – and it's a HOME RUN!!)

You are pretty bent, BLAH. I am not a republican. You seem to be saying two different things, but I will not insult you by assuming that you are bipolar. But you have got your rant down pat. However, it does no involve me. Run for public orifice.
