Alex Rodriguez hits milestone 600th home run

Alex Rodriguez became the youngest player to hit 600 career home runs on Wednesday.

New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez has hit his 600th career home run - a two-run blast in the first inning against Toronto Blue Jays.

The homer, which landed on the net on top of monument park in Yankee Stadium, makes A-Rod the youngest and the seventh player to join the 600 club.

The milestone was a long-awaited one - with 46 at-bats between his 599th and 600th home runs.

Rodriguez now joins the elite company of Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey Jr. and Sammy Sosa.

If Alex finds himself in Arizona, I wonder if the governor herself will check his immigration status?

A-Rod doesn't have class of a Ken Griffey jr., Willie Mays, or Hammerin' Hank. He belongs with Bonds Sosa and all the rest of the sissy pants, steroid queens in the hall of shame. I have 2 autographed balls from the Mariners. One is from A-Rod, and the other from Griffey. Griffey's is proudly displayed. a classy guy all the way. The other is kept in a dark closet with memories of past times........good times ....when Rodriguez still had heart and class.

Free at last, oh my gracious, we're free at last! Time to move on everyone. Watching grass grow was considered spectacular than this story. Yep., great accomplishment. No doubt about it. But it got soooooo darned old!!

I love the game of baseball and I'm happy for A-Rod, even though I am a Red Sox fan. He's in very elite company. However, I hardly think this qualifies as "breaking news" they way the story was posted on Tuesday. Breaking news???

Hey, A-rod! Did you wave to Regis after rounding the bases? You couldn't have done it without him.

If Babe Ruth was on 'roids, he would have hit 1000 home runs.
If Ruth had played in other home parks, he would have hit over 800 and still be the home run leader.
Bonds was on juice and Hank played in smaller parks.
    Babe Ruth is the best.

There isn't any justification for using drugs to enhance performance. Yes, yes, I know.... they've ALWAYS done it. Speed, performance enhancers of all types. Why don't we enter a new era where no one does this so we can see what the human body is capable of without a chemical agent to assist them? There are those here who seem to endorse these drugs. Maybe they are professional wrestling fans and believe that the sport is real as well. We need truth in our culture so that people can sort out what is real and what is not. Letting the drugging go on and even supporting it just makes our society even less than it is right now.

Wow.. records mean nothing these days.

Let's see the record for the sneakiest method for obtaining and using banned substances. That's what I want to see. A-Rod should be called A-Tool
