An armed Christian organization, Right Wing Extreme, will protect a church that is planning to host an "International Burn a Quran Day" on the ninth anniversary of September 11, the church's pastor said on Tuesday.
The Dove World Outreach Center, in Gainesville, Florida, says it is hosting the event to remember 9/11 victims and to take a stand against Islam. With promotions on its website and Facebook page, the nondenominational church invites Christians to burn the Muslim holy book.
Dove's Facebook page, set up for the September event, has nearly 6,000 fans. The initiative has also drawn critics.
Dove World Outreach Center Pastor Terry Jones has accepted the support of Right Wing Extreme, which he said offered to come to the church with between 500 and 2,000 men on September 11. He described the organization as an armed civilian militia group.

Howmany of you Christians know that there is an entire chapter named after Prophet Jesus's mother. Take a Quran and turn to chapter 19, you will find sura Maryam(Mary) there. Do you also know that the name of Jesus(pbuh) is mentioned many more times than prophet Muhammad(pbuh) in the Quran??
So burning the Quran would also mean burning of Jesus and Mary

As a Muslim, I'm bound to believe in all prophets, including Jesus Christ. In Quran, a whole chapter (Ch. 19) is dedicated to Mother Mary. I'll be offended if my religious book or any religious book is burnt, just like any Christian would if Bible is burnt.
We should condemn any immoral, inhumane and prejudiced action against any religious symbol or manuscript. This act will only fuel more anger.
I just can't put that much energy into hating somebody or any group. There is no way I would be a part of any book burning event. There are people in this world who are begging for a book to read any book. A book anybook is one person or a group of people's opinion thats all. Everything else is an idea which cannot be destroyed.
I hope Gainesville has an open fire ordinance that will stop these idiots from their ridiculous plans. What if some Muslims decided to burn Bibles across the street? Jesus needs to come back and clear his temples of these hatemongers. And these so-called "churches" should not be allowed tax exemptions. The Dove World Outreach Center? Absolutely ludicrous. They think this is outreach? Bringing in a heavily armed army of ignorant mental cases does not seem like a good idea either. Perhaps God will decide this preacher is worth a lightning bolt. i belive in all prophets moses,jesus,mohammad,etc.but if burning the quran is just like burning the bible if you didnt realise both books almost have the same stories of the prophets and talks about the judgement day.and yes it talks about jesus and mary.so why burn it?
