Hilton arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession

Paris Hilton was released from a Las Vegas, Nevada, jail Saturday morning after being arrested late the night before on suspicion of cocaine possession, police said Saturday.

The hotel heiress was riding in a black Cadillac Escalade that was pulled over in front of the Wynn Hotel on the Vegas strip about 11:30 p.m. after police detected the smell of marijuana coming from the SUV, Lt. Wayne Holman told CNN.

The driver, whom police did not identify, was arrested for driving under the influence, he said.
Hilton was taken to the Clark County jail. She was released after authorities determined she was not a flight risk, Holman said.

Last month, Hilton was briefly detained in South Africa for allegedly smoking marijuana at the World Cup. Her publicist called the July 2 incident "a complete misunderstanding," and the case was dropped.

I live in Las Vegas and I'm no angel, the Police do not just release people under the influence of Cocaine. If it wasn't for who she is she would have sat in jail over the weekend. She maybe would see a judge Monday more likely Tuesday who would either O.R. her or set bail. WHAT A JOKE !!! Way to go Police just spit in the face of us commoners! Huge double standard! Hopefully they just figured she's more trouble than she's worth

    • not the ex-wife, just a stranger

I used to think she was smart, too, then I realized that without her grandfather she would never have become famous. She required plastic surgery at age 14, hair dye, hair extensions, blue contacts, and her grandfather's name to get where she is, buddy. There would be no marketing at all for her just on her average looks and personality....cmon. I wish the police would crack down harder on rich people when they mess up. I mean you have a million bucks plus and you need to sniff coke? Dumb.

I'm sure police were following her around just waiting for her to do something illegal (the average person unknowingly commits 3 felonies every day) so they could search without a warrant. Vegas police are shameful.

Yea, I don't think that statistic is correct unless we amend our definition of "average person."

      PAPilot,
The average person does not commit felonies. You are an idiot or coke head.

    • Uhhh no

Aside from looking up the definition of "average person," you need to look up the definition of "felony."

The police are shameful for arresting somebody who was in possession of cocaine??? Get a grip & No, the average person does not commit 3 felonies a day unknowingly! Felonies, (Crimes punishable for a minimum of year & a day) are the kind of things you would know were wrong when you were doing them. No one gets a free pass..

      1. Do you always stop at a stop sign?
      2. Do you always drive within the speed limit?

These are not felonies, but simple traffic violations. But a cop can stop you and do a search without warrant. How about that?

That must mean you commit six a day since you are clearly not average.

We likely break 3 laws a day, usually the non enforcable ones.

But I seriously doubt it's felonies.

PAPilot probably starts off every day by sodomizing his wife first thing in the morning, then he jaywalks across the street to steal his neighbor's paper. He finishes off the day by doing all kinds of other ill $h!t just to bring up the national average.

It has more to do with laws that people unknowingly break. Often around business owners. Felonies now a day aren't as vicious as most people think...

Maybe two INFRACTIONS a day (rolling stop and exceeding the speed limit). There are INFRACTIONS, MISDOMEANERS, and FELONIES. I don't do drugs, so I don't have any misdomeaners or felonies. In high school I committed an ocassional misdomeaner by smoking pot...but I grew up. Paris has not.

Oh come on..tree felonies per week? Maybe the average person might commit three misdemeanors possibly in a month, but if a person is committing 3 felonies a week? That is not an average person that person is called a criminal.
