The National Football League has reduced the suspension of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger from six to four games, the league said.
The NFL in a statement Friday said Roethlisberger's reinstatement is contingent on him "continuing to adhere to the program established by our advisors and avoiding any further violations of the Personal Conduct Policy."
"You have told me and the Steelers that you are committed to making better decisions," Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a letter to Roethlisberger, according to the statement. "Your actions over the past several months have been consistent with that promise and you must continue to honor that commitment."
Roethlisberger, who led the Steelers to Super Bowl titles in 2006 and 2009, faced the threat of criminal charges after a woman accused him of raping her in a Milledgeville, Georgia, bar in March.
The quarterback's lawyer said no sexual assault took place, and prosecutors decided last week that they could not prove that a crime had been committed.

The whole Steelers organization is a joke! When you have all these people out here struggling to put food on their tables and you have an athlete that is given the privilege to play football and make millions, there should be no second and third chances.
you know what, if that had been joe blow off the street he'd be doing 15 years somewhere. There is this stupid mentality in our country that rich, famous, and celebrity gives them all a pass to do as they please with a little slap on the wrists. He is a pig and the only people who want to stand behind him are steeler fans, that's sad. no one has a moral compass in this society anymore.
This guy get's away with crap-he is a peice of white thrash. In the mean time the black football player gets hurt by his own gun and has to serve jail time(2 years), with no chance of early release. Roethlisberger and Palin must be from the same DNA...both are dumb BSTRDS.
...Ok!...so a guy like Vick who harmed a few dogs gets suspended from the NFL ....but yet a guy ( Ben R.) who may have acted inapropriately with a young girl (a human being) gets a slap on the wrist and then gets his game suspension reduced!..WOW!...where is Goodell`s head....he must be a steelers fan.
they need to disband teh NFL all it is...is a boys club for rapists and woman abusers
starlight how childish.
Nfl reduces roethlisberger suspension to four games.. OMG!
agreed...but i don't think he did anything.....that girl is nothing but a s l u t that was looking to score some money....
Starlight, do you know this girl? This is not the first issue Ben has had, and it won't be the last. Ben is a P-I-G and shame on the Rooneys for keeping him. There is no accountablilty for any celebrity, anywhere! Two sets of rules and I for one am sick of it
ummmm actually the woman in the first case ADMITTED she was lying! even the cops investigating said she was....the girl in this case was young and more than likely threw a temper tantrum because she was under 21 (or he thought she was ugly, easy, money grabbing, wanting attention etc...i could go on as i there are tons of women around the world like this) ......also there was absolutely no physical evidence to even back up what this little liar was saying......there are some women out there that are completly vindictive if they get rejected.....celebrity or not........
while i agree with you that there is no accountability with any celebrity as they think they are above the law, if there is no evidence, no changes laid after police findings and witness accounts can verify then he and anyone has the right to resume his career just as you or i should be allowed to.....he's trying to change his life around, why should you or i or anyone for that matter deny him that?
the only girl i know is your mother
