Pastor who planned 9/11 Quran burning arrives in NYC

The Rev. Terry Jones, the Florida pastor who has garnered worldwide attention for his plan earlier this week to burn Qurans on September 11, arrived in New York City late Friday night, according to footage provided by CNN affiliate WABC.

"I don't have anything to say right now," he told a group of reporters who followed him out of LaGuardia Airport and to a taxi cab.

K.A. Paul, an evangelist in contact with Jones, has said that there will be no burning of the book Saturday evening, as had been originally planned.

Jones has said he was scheduled to travel to New York City on Friday night for a still-unscheduled meeting with the imam in charge of the New York Islamic center planned near ground zero.

The planned meeting, Jones had said, helped persuade him to halt the planned burning.

this Koran burning issue can lead to a disastrous results.there r so many Christians in Muslim countries, they will be slaughtered, and big blood shed, esp in Pakistan and other extremest country.they don't have any security in normal situation and its more likely adding fuel in to fire.if terry Jones thinks that he is a pastor then he should have a soft corner for those innocent Christians who does not have any kind of security.i have only one question for terry Jones"is your hatred for Muslims is bigger than the love for helpless Christians all around the world.

Fools those that still think the muslims destroyed the twin towers and murd-ered these victims. Muslims are Not the ter-rorists here! Our own leaders are telling you that! The right of religion is a GOD GIVEN right and NO one should say who or where can have a place to worship, not even the same go-vernment that created the 9-one one event. Burning the Koran or any other book, gives more power to these powers that fooled you all in the first place. S C A R E tactics are still going on, wake up you all! God bless us all.

So a hillbilly pastor is taking cues from the Nazis and burning books. Thanks corporate media for giving this guy attention so he can gain national fame from it. He makes all the negative things said by the imam pale in comparison. I thank god for separation of church and state.

Burning the Quran wouldn't get rid of what's written inside of it from our hearts.

Talk? I bet the pastor's gonna take the Iman out with his bare hands, just like Jeb Clampett would do while rustling up some food, when out of the ground a come a bubblin crude – oil that is black gold, Texas tea.

    1) If anyone dies because of this, the Pastor should be considered the accomplice to murder.
    2) AS SHOULD CNN AND OTHER NEWS NETWORKS. Shame on you for reporting this mentally retarded man's stupid crusade as if it's something serious.
    3) If Obama wants to counter this man out, he should record himself saying this in Arabic, so most Muslims would get the message on Al-Jazeera or whatnot: "this f***ing retard is not part of mainstream America. Don't worry, we are not all bigots like him."

you know what i think....most of you are blaming ISLAM because you've never personally gotten to know a muslim. if you did, you would change youvr views. but wait, some people are just too full of themselves to get to know one. and when you see one, you assume he/she is a terrorist without knowing anything about that person. muslim women are labeled 'rag heads" and men are labeled as al-qaeda members. does anyone remember the oklahoma bomber? HE WASNT MUSLIM. how about the guy slamming his plane into the IRS. HE WASNT MUSLIM EITHER.

As a Christian American and a veteran this is plain wrong. It violates the teachings of the Bible and it puts our fellow Americans in jeopardy. This "preacher" seems to be looking to make a name for himself and if bloodshed occurs he needs to prosecuted under the law for creating such a situation. We need to be worried about the direction this country is going and evaluate what got us to this point. This is not the answer. Lead by example.how does this do any good?

Muslims people and religion are not peaceful anywhere in the world. Muslims are very intolerance. They hate freedom of speech. That's why they want yo kill Rushdi or Danish cartoonist or anyone they don't agree with their religion and culture.

zeff I believe you are a true muslim and educated. You are saying "lot of church in Saudi Arabia" . It is nol true . There is not single church. I reiterate that we have to respect all the religion. I agreed here we are talking about America, but the terrorist were mostly from Saudi Arabia who made 9/11 tragedy. So this discussion is interlinked.Above all the mosque of zero point project is influenced by other Muslim countries also. Imam was in Qatar recently.

RAJU YOUR BASICALLY SOUND THE DUMBEST RIGHT NOW. too save yourself from further embarrasment, go to bed. i think its past your bed time. their is no link BETWEEN RELIGION IN SAUDI AND AMERICA. how many times should i repeat...SAUDIA ARABIA IS A MUSLIM RULED COUNTRY...AMERICA ISNT. AMERICA ALLOWS FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND THERFORE ALLOWS PPL TO BUILD A masjid, synanogue, temple or chuch.
