Natalee Holloway's mom tries to visit Van der Sloot in jail

The mother of missing American teen Natalee Holloway was in Peru Friday with a Dutch documentary maker - and made a trip to the jail where the man suspected in Holloway's death sits.

Producers for the the Dutch journalist who is accompanying Beth Holloway posted a note on his official website that said the journalist, Peter de Vries, and the mother made a trip to Castro Castro prison.

But de Vries did not explicitly say whether the pair met with the suspect, Joran Van der Sloot. He denied media reports that jail authorities detained them and confiscated the documentary crew's gears.

Peru's 24 Horas television station reported that Holloway spoke to Van der Sloot for about five minutes before she and the crew were removed from the jail. But Vries said the crew did not break any rules and jail officials knew of their visit.

This is so sad when a victims mom is forced to go to a foreign jail to visit the accused because Aruba Officials refused to properly investigate one of their own.

It is sad, however, but just like O.J., it caught up with him and he is off the streets.

The world is waiting for him to tell the truth. We all know what he has done to these girls and his daddy can't help him now.

I'm sure the mom's name is not Holloway, but Twitty. However, not the point here, I'm sorry for the mom of Natalie H., I know she 'd just like some closure & perhaps the girls' body to bury. I don't know if I'd go to Peru, nor give money to his legal fund, but I've not been in her situation. I'm wondering if I were face to face with the guy who admitted (while laughing) to killing my child, whether or not I'd talk to him, or smash his face in with a camera. Bless Beth T. & Bless her family.

My heart goes out to Natalee mom. One thing I know if you just wait and let God handle things you will not go wrong. Sometime we take matters into our own hands and we end up screwing things up and not get results, and that leads to dissapointments. In time God will avenge Natalee death and all who was involved in it. Look what happen to Van der Sloot dad. If we just wait everything will work it self out. If we could have waited Stephany would be alive to this day..
Things comes back to kick us in our butts when we don't wait

She is wasting her time. Joran isn't going to do anything but use her again.
    Enough of the bs already.

Wendy is right; van der Sloot is a sociopath and will never deal honestly with anyone.

In defense of JB all that is being brought up is the point that, statistically, missing persons cases involving minorities get 97% less media coverage than those involving whites. It does not make the Holloway case any less important or heart wrenching, but a fact is a fact and its a sad situation all around.

I hope Joran gave her mother some kind of information if she did have the opportunity to speak with him. Its all just so tragic.

I am so sorry to see that this Joran character still gets so much attention; i am getting more and more convinced that Joran doesn't know where Natalee can be found; he is seriously disturbed ; no one should trust such a desperate man; he wants to get out of the Peruvian jail and he's using poor Natalee's mother for this purpose.
