House Republicans sought to recapture the spirit of their 1994 election landslide Thursday, unveiling a 21-page "Pledge to America" that includes promises to slash taxes, cut government and reverse President Barack Obama's health care reforms.
Among other things, House GOP leaders pledged to permanently extend all of the Bush-era tax cuts due to expire at the end of this year - including for individuals making over $250,000.
They also proposed giving small businesses a tax deduction equal to 20 percent of their income, while requiring Congress to review any new federal regulations that add to the deficit.

These people prove time and time that the american people are just plain ol stupid!
Things are getting worst and the other party want to make a promise to never change from their ruinous holier than thou ways which help only the rich!
If the people fall for this hoax again then g-d dam america!
If ya don't like it boats that way bro

If people would only understand that it takes time to work through all the blockades that get set up by those who don't seem to care about the everyday working people. Give the present President a chance !! It takes time to undue the many things which have been put in place that were handed to him and have to be dealt with before he can even move on to many of the positive items a great many of us hope for.
I promise to return this country back to the years(2000-2008) I promise to legislate for the rich only.
I promise to play on the fears of thestupid.
I promise to do away with the lower class and replace them with the middle so I can advance the agenda of the rich.
I promise all who don't remember our last promise to the rich, that this time around we will make it that uch for your lives,I PROMISE
I promise all who don't remember our last promise to the rich, that this time around we will make your life that much worst while we continue our promise to advance the agenda of the wealthy.
i cant wait for this stupid country to fall apart, and i live here! Its the worst thing that ever happen to this planet. BURN BABY BURN!!!
And the repugs did such a bang-up job reducing spending and government during their twelve years of repug controlled Congress including 8 years of White House control as well. And yet people continue to follow these charlatans in fake tans, accepting without question their two-minute, highly scripted sound bites. Shame on you all.
This goes to both parties but right now I'm addressing the Party of God(GOP).
You Suck!!
i think its time for a little class warfare lets light this place up
the gop talks about cutting taxes killing healthcare cuting social security etc. Why would we want to vote for this?
they had 8 years leadership and 6 year control of congress and who passed the 1st stimulis package. Go home and let someone who cares about our country run not for a lifetime service. Lets redo the senate and how long they can hold office the day they are elected they start ccmpaigning for the next term lets not have a next turn just like the president 8 years you are out when the 8 years if over never to be able to run again
I read the "Pledge to America" and it is really scary. Once again the Republicans prove to be a party of "no real ideas" except to attempt to destroy any positive changes that have struggled through Congress since the last election. So the party of "NO" is now the party of "DESTROY". I did notice that many of the sentences in their Pledge that are in bold print appear as being fairly reasonable and non-threatening. Someone should put the whole thing in bold print so people look beyond just the main ideas to see how destructive their plans are for achieving the proposals that they placed in bold print!
Hmmm. Let's see. We're the most powerful counrty in the world. With a population of over 300 million citizens. The biggest economy. (by far) The biggest military (by far) and the self appointed policeman of the world. Not to mention leader in scientific research and space exploration. Ummm.... just how small should our government be????
The government should produce a balanced budget every year. Whatever size is required to do that is your answer. It seems like common sense to me. Why the gov't has been allowed to get out of control like this is what is hard to understand.
The Republican'ts can try to talk-the-talk, but they have a LOT of trouble with that walk-the-walk part! ZERO credibility, ZERO new ideas, and ZERO willingness to actually govern this country - that takes willing negotiation, don't ya know?
Vote NO to the Party of NO in NOvember!
The democrats have controlled congress for four years and they have passed the four largest budget deficits in the country's history. It's just not acceptable. Sorry.
My wife and I have to pay $1200 a month for health insurance.... Yeah, Obama health care... NOT!
You all are delusional... Obama is just the other end of the same animal... He's just another slick politician. Damn them all to Hell.
The best president this country ever had spend all the money that no republican gets any only regular people should benefit
