Levee fails along Wisconsin River

A dam in Niagara, Wisconsin on the Menominee River's flood gates are opened.

As many as 100 homes could be affected by flood waters in Wisconsin due to the failure of a 120-year-old sand levee along the Wisconsin River.

The levee, near the city of Portage in Columbia County, began to give way Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service's Milwaukee/Sullivan office.

Patrick Beghin, a representative of the Columbia County Emergency Operations Center, confirmed to CNN Monday Morning that the levee had in fact failed.

This is a sign that god wants the packers to lose. Furthermore, it's god's way of telling wisconsinites that they are inferior to minnesotans in every way, and that their filthy football team is all washed up. Down down with the packers

"god wants the packers to lose."

Silly Purple People Eater. I first heard that song growing up in MN. Later I discovered true cheesehead traditions. Now we all know the true America's Team lives in Dallas.

This just means liberals will be building new levees replacing 100 year old ones across the country using taxpayer money from people who have never even seen a levee.
Im sure there are 400 year old ones all over Europe that work great.

One should ask why the Dells area up river was allowed to only go to "Flood Stage" but down stream at Portage it was allowed to go well in "Major Flood" stage. Sure does not seem like a balance to me.

This really is sad I was just down there this summer and everything was just getting back to normal from like 10 years ago when this same problem happened I guess beautiful things weren't ment to be in wisconsin and by the way the packers lost cuz of the corruption in chicago not because God wanted them to lose. Cuz oh yeah I'm sure God was saying "ya know I really like the crime rate in chicago this year its higher then it was last year maybe they should win." Satan maybe but I guess thats who you guys down there call God anyway. besides we could have used that win our unemployment rates been so high up here lately that most people don't even have a place to go this winter not to mention we spent all our stimulus money on road construction which was built by union workers who keep asking for extensions. All thanks to good Ole Jim Dole who oh yeah... is from Chicago just like Al Capone except at least Capone had a soul.
