RAIDER NATION, stand at attention, moment of silence for one of the GREATS. Check out the Raider website – homepage has a photo of Blanda in the center and it says CHAMPION. Blanda was an inspiration to me growing up, seriously, I would see him kick a field goal and be motivated to go do my homework.
And another thing – Blanda's college coach was Bear Bryant – before Bryant was at Alabama, he coached Blanda at Kentucky. Blanda was a champ there too. Just win, babe – Pride and Poise – George Blanda – RAIDER NATION!!!
George Blanda was truly a great athlete. From his humble beginnings in Kentucky to the two careers he had in two leagues .I will always remember him as the gentleman Raider who always rose to the occasion in his 27 years of play. Will always remeber you Mister AFL.
Who cares? Obviously you fdo since you took your valuable time to post an innane, feral minded, hateful and despiable comment about another human being. You are a wad of trash and deserve much misery. Duck! The karma boomerang is on its way back to you!

I'm a 60+ old lady & I KNOW & care. He will never be one of those so called "hero's' that show up with an asterik after their names. You knew he didn't become a Hall of Famer via a bag of sh** in his pocket. Once upon a time we had real athletes you wanted your kids to emulate. We don't have many like him now...only bucks & 'me' matters. Yeah this is news...do we really need another 'news' report on the likes of Linsay Lohan or the latest dirt bag who failed his third drug test. Vince would have been happy to have him on THE TEAM.
I saw George play when I was a kid...and he would play any position that Al Davis would allow....barring Defensive tackle; that was reserved for Otis Sistrunk.

There's one of you in every crowd.
Crawl back under your rock and go back to sleep for another 30 years you non-caring poor excuse.
Someday this dork will find out who Blanda was, and will regret those comments
Most likely a soccer sissy (er, fan).
