Four soldiers from the Fort Hood Army base in Texas - all decorated veterans from the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan - died in the past week, a Fort Hood spokesman said Wednesday.
In all four cases, it appears the soldiers took their own lives, spokesman Christopher Haug said.

HELLO......? WTH! Do me a favor and save your time and money on stupid news and invest in stories like this one......something that we would actually be interested in! We need to help these soldiers and educate the public so that we can find a resolution.......my son in law did NOT return the same from Iraq and has PTS. There are many more men and women like this and hopefully we don't hear anymore stories like this.

Soldiers get depressed, but not like this.
Somebody is killing them and making it look like suicide.
That's Obama fault because it is prosecuting brave Americans accused of 'sports killing'.
We should never apologise or punish an American over his actions in Afghanistan as long as we have a war going on.
That's not good for the morale as these suicides show now.
The Army does not do a good job of taking are of soldiers with PTSD issues or other mental health issues brought about by comba exposure. They are quite skilled in presenting an appearance to teh media, family members, and congressional inquiries, that they care, but the vast majority of what they do is lip service designed to put on a good appearance while the soldier suffers without help. They discourage people from seeking help because doing so attaches a stigma to the soldier that he is a "nut job" and this sitgma finds its way into future assignments "don't give SFC So-and-So the leadership position because he's nuts. Bury him in a staff job somewhere so he's counting boxes of computer paper instead of leading troops." Those who do go for help find out they've got a traumatic brain injury, and they get boxes of mind-altering drugs (Ambien, Zoloft, etc.) to turn him into a vegetable instaed of treating his injury. Then they wonder why he snaps and hurts someone. The entire situation is sad. All they do is to try to patch them up enough so they can be deployed and put on the line again.
Today's Army – Lip service and lies. No intergity at all. Just ask the Tillman family.

What planet are you from? Canada has been in Afghanistan since Day One buddy. While the Americans pulled out to and beat up on Saddam, Canadian troops have been on the ground in the most hostile parts of Afghanistan in Helmand Province. We may not have the numbers that you have, but Canada's military has taken on the brunt of the fighting against the Taliban. And unfortunately many have died, and many others gravely wounded. And we're still there. Get your facts straight, and never, never ever undermine Canada's contribution to help clean up your mess.
Whoever posted that CA is not int the fray needs to head down to the US Army recruiters office and get an education....PS...they will take you up to 41 years of age with a waiver...I also am wondering what planet?

Thanks for the back-up, I didn't mean to go off on a rant but guys like that p*** me off. We are all in this fight together and we are having suicides on this side of the border as well. Bureaucrats refusing to take care of our veterans. Instead the gov't is trying to buy them off and cut off any future benefits. $200,000 may seem like a lot to a 21 year old, but he immedaitely loses half of that to taxes, the rest won't go far if you need extensive rehabilitation.
