Times Square bomb plotter sentenced to life in prison

A 30-year-old Pakistani-American was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday for attempting to detonate a vehicle bomb in Times Square this year.

Faisal Shahzad was defiant before a judge sentenced him Tuesday, saying "the defeat of the U.S. is imminent."

Shahzad pleaded guilty in June to all 10 counts in an indictment against him. At the time, he told the court, "I want to plead guilty 100 times because unless the United States pulls out of Afghanistan and Iraq, until they stop drone strikes in Somalia, Pakistan and Yemen and stop attacking Muslim lands, we will attack the United States and be out to get them."

Could be that the liberals are smart enough to know better than to give this extremist what he wants. And you do know that the death penalty would be a great way of recruiting more extremists to the cause.

This disproves arguements that we can't try some terror, but not all, suspects in traditional federal courts. It's time people start paying attention to the problems. – http://disenchantedjourno.blogspot.com/2010/10/thought-of-day-i-though-we-couldnt-try.html

You people don't understand anything about the mentality of these fanatics. Death penalty will not deter them from committing terrorist acts. But rather encourages them. They've been blowing up people via suicides, what makes you think death penalty or life in jail would discourage them. Thus, I'd like to let it be known that Sen. Charles E. Schumer is very stupid for his comment. The only way to deter these people is by humiliation, torture and defecation. Death by stoning in public would certainly have an impact on these infidels. Waterboarding would work too. If the human rights group disagree to this, then its apparent that the Infidels have infiltrated them. No American in his/her right mind would allow terrorists blowing up their homeland to be given the freedom of a quick death or life imprisonment.

No. There is no need to do as Muslim/Islamic countries do to their women and others. These people will soon be getting what they deserve. If they haven't already been told.
God's way of showing them, their way of life is wrong. The most humbling act he could think of.
The defendant should be executed and executed immediately.
