Judge orders military to stop enforcing don't ask, don't tell

A federal judge ordered that the U.S. military stop enforcing the don't ask, don't tell policy on Tuesday.

Judge Virginia Phillips ordered the military "immediately to suspend and discontinue any investigation, or discharge, separation, or other proceeding, that may have been commenced under the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"."

The judge had previously ruled that the policy regarding gays serving in the military violated service members Fifth Amendment rights but delayed issuing the injunction.

Why isn't anybody asking the military what should be done? Send out a survey via mail. One that can't be traced Back to the individual and make an informed descision. The last survey was done on line. That wouldn't have reached all the troops nor filled out honestly by the ones taking it. They felt they could be identified by their IP address. The bottom line is how does this effect mission readiness of the units on the ground.

After reading a few of your comments, you truly believe that gays don't have the same rights as straight people and make ignorant commentss, apparently you never have served your country in the military because if you had you would know that everyone in the military is green, you are trained to protect your country and kill the ememy nothing more. The only reason this is such issue now is because of selfish people like you and your pc friends. I served in the Army for two years and if any one was gay I didn't know and didn't want to know, I only wanted to know if that person would watch my back (not my a..). I did graduate high school and college.

So, where are the limiits? If a guy wants to serve in drag, can he do that? If a person wants to serve with tattoos on their face, can they do that? What about a rastafarian? Can he serve in dreadlocks?

My poiint is, once you've decided that one set of behaviors doesn't interfere with military operations, how many others can be justified or excused?

The Westbrouo Baptist Church must be going crazy regarding this injunction. They might be on their way there to protest the ruling. I should include all other conservative christen "Wackjob" groups. This just feed into the paranoia about how people fear change, it really makes me sad.

I say , make it mandatory for ALL gays to enlist . Tlhen get Barney Frank to lead them . Let em show how gay they are . Let em hold hands and kiss and whatever else the freaks want to do . Then stick them in the front lines somewhere and eliminate the problem ! If that does not work , then friendly fire has been effective in the past ! That takes care of the gay issue for us once and for all !

Sure, and then we can line up a firing squad for bigots like you.

Would your last name happen to be Sanchez? Do you hate Jews and criticize Jon Stewart too?

Think about it...what if they said...screw you Judge...what excatly could she do?

Is it me or is "federal judge" becoming painfully synonymous with "enemy of the state"

"I was a UNITED STATES U.S. ARMY PARATROOPER"

For someone with a supposed IQ of 136, Mr. "Upper Superior on the Rorsch scale" and all– do you really not realize that United States and U.S. mean the same thing?

You anti-gay post-ers really are not all that bright, are ya?

And the military is beholden to a federal judge? Too funny. Another case of the clay giving instruction to the potter. Such an ego-laden fool, Virginia Phillips.
