A federal judge ordered that the U.S. military stop enforcing the don't ask, don't tell policy on Tuesday.
Judge Virginia Phillips ordered the military "immediately to suspend and discontinue any investigation, or discharge, separation, or other proceeding, that may have been commenced under the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"."
The judge had previously ruled that the policy regarding gays serving in the military violated service members Fifth Amendment rights but delayed issuing the injunction.

You're right. Since hard-core Muslim fundamentalists are also anti-gay we should appease them and keep gays out of the military. That's just what we want...a country based on hard-line Islamic ideals. The world would be a better place if we would all hate gays just like those 14th century religious states that are showing such enlightenment in the Middle East.

Get off his back. He has a point. Gays openly serving our military is the worst thing that can happen with Don't Ask Don't Tell. That wasn't put in there as a means to supress the gays, it was put in there to PROTECT THEM! This is a sad day in america.

This federal judge has NO basis to tell the military what do to, she is just trying to act high and mighty. Get a life your honor!

What will she do if the military ignores her........nothing.
She can hold them in contempt of court, and if they refuse to comply, she has the authority to order the U.S. Marshal Service to arrest and jail them.
Not to mention they would then be subject to court-martial under Article 134 of the UCMJ (conduct which brings disrepect upon the Armed Services).
