Never understood people who find humor in these kind of stories/tragedies. It's unfortunate but we all have lost a love one during our lives. Imagine during your time of mourning someone made an inappropriate joke. I thought so!

HENNING, Tenn. – Two female postal workers have been shot and killed inside a post office in Henning, Tennessee after a robbery.

Henning’s City Hall confirmed the two were found dead around 9:00am Monday morning. Officers are searching for a burgundy Chevrolet Impala with two men inside.

Sources say multiple shots were fired inside the post office, as many as 9 shots.

A witness told a state employee at the Tennessee Capitol in Nashville, Tony Burns, that the shooting happened during a robbery attempt. Burns said his sister-in-law, a postal service worker, was assigned to the Henning office Monday. He said she told him she escaped unharmed.

Jeff Dew, of the Dennis Dew Termite Co., told the AP that his brother, Eric Banks, was driving through the area when a woman flagged him down near the post office.

He said that his brother reported the shooting to police. He said he hasn't been able to speak to his brother because his brother has been talking with police since about 9 a.m.

FOX13 spoke with Tinika Pitts who walked in after the bodies were discovered. She came in to mail a letter and said the pest control crew insisted that she leave. Pitts said they told her the two had been shot and asked her to get in touch with the Post Master.

She described the scene as police surrounding the area. The FBI and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are helping the postal service investigate.

Henning is located about 50 miles North of Memphis between Covington and Ripley, Tennessee. The post office is located in Lauderdale County.

Once again everybody wants to blame guns and say we need tougher laws, lets look at NY, NJ, IL, PA-states that have pretty much banned guns, their crime rates are off the chain. criminals dont give a dam about gun laws. remember, guns dont kill people, people kill people. plus, do u really think he cared about the post office being a gun free zone, OBVIOUSLY NOT! He killed two women. as a ccw holder, i carry everywhere i go, post office, banks, malls, etc., just in case.

Look at any earthquake map, and it shows that area to have the strongest historical earthquakes in the U.S. Think about what horses do before an earthquake: and think about strange behavior. The super quake ("New Madrid Fault") has a period of 500 years, and isn't due for a few hundred years, but usually there is a strong quake every hundred years or so, and that quake is 100 years overdue.

911 is America's dial a prayer, when you call help is 5 to 8 minutes away, the police are not there to protect you, you have to protect yourself and your family, all the police do is show up after the fact and pick up the pieces. As for me and my own, my wife and I will CWP all day long to protect ourselves and our boys. My brother is a letter carrier. he says for the abuse that he has to take at his JOB, the pay isn't that much. Maybe it is time the PO went private, away from the government control, then they will make a profit because the government won't be fixing the books for the PO and stealing the money like they do everywhere else.

Quit the name calling and stay on the subject! It is a shame guns had to be invented in the first place! I don't think god wants us to kill each other no matter which way it's done.

Jereme, you are being a little short-sighted here. What if the person has a gun and all you have is a knife? What if it is a group of uniformed people? What if they call themselves the Gestapo and they want you to join in the extermination of others, or die yourself? If we give up any more of the balance in power between the people and our government, we will only be one psycho away from another Hitler coming to power. Remember, the German people loved Hitler and put him in position. All he had to do was seize the reins. Do you really want to take guns from your law-abiding neighbors just so only criminals have them? Do you crave a oppressive government with no way of changing it?

I cannot believe there are this many ignorant posts on any blog I've read. Look at the countries that disallow firearms
(i.e. Australia, Iran, UAE, China, North Korea, etc., etc.) and notice anything in common? A suppressed society, that
lives and dies under their own governments thumb. Look how well Iran's people faired in rallying against what they
saw as a rigged presidential election? And just for the majority of these blogmites (Obama supporters i.e. mindless
sheep), guns are NOT illegal to own in Mexico as a citizen, you just can't own guns they are chambered for any NATO
round (can't shoot bullets that a NATO member-nation weapons does, for all you Obamanators) i.e. .45ACP, 9mm, .223,
    5.56mm, 7.62 x 39, 7.62 x 51, .50BMG, 7.62 x 54R, etc. etc. Damn people, wake up and open your eyes before we too
    fall to Communism!

I pray for these 2 women and their families. It is very heartbreaking, and very true that these ladies no doubt have husbands, children and parents, all whom are distraught at this moment.~and yes~we should be able to work in a public place,or shop in a public place without fear of this happening!~and the guns are probably not "legal, tracable"guns anyway BUT there is far too much of this going on everyday~and while its fine to have gun rights,we have carried it WAY too far in this country! I know THESE were handguns, but a lot of crimes are commited using ak47s and such~which NOBODY needs~except military and Law Enforcement!~There MUST be SOME answer~some way to cut down on the availability of guns to bad people, and still maintain legal gun rights.Surely somebody is smart enough to come uo with the answer!~Again~God Bless the 2 women&families!Very Sad day.
