WikiLeaks to release secret Iraq documents

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange faces a criminal investigation in Sweden.

The controversial website WikiLeaks is expected to release 400,000 documents related to the war in Iraq.

The last huge WikiLeaks leak came in July when the site published what was dubbed The Afghan Diary, a compilation of more than 70,000 classified documents about the Afghanistan war. WikiLeaks was heavily criticized by human rights organizations, leaders within the U.S. government,  high-ranking Pentagon officials and security experts for publishing the names of Afghan informants, thereby possibly putting their lives at risk.

Bradley Manning, who served as an intelligence analyst in Iraq, is the military's focus in the investigation into the leaks. The 22-year-old remains behind bars in Washington.

Since the July leak, WikiLeaks as an organization has suffered as a criminal investigation against its director Julian Assange continues in Sweden and several volunteers have quit. The company that was collecting donations for WikiLeaks recently ended its business relationship with the site.

WikiLeaks is most important tool in the development of weapons against fascist government since the public popularization of the Internet itself. Why do you think they've declared war on Assange personally? He and WikLeaks are a threat to the corporate-state elite and their military-industrial complex money machine.

Oh, and since Bradley Manning is currently in the brig, who exactly is supposed to have given WikiLeaks this new set of files? It seems more and more likely that someone much higher up the food chain was responsible for manipulating Manning into leaking the first batch of material.

Some really good comments on here and some really stupid people as well. How about this, before you make a comment, tell us which branch of service you are serving in and or served in, and if you saw active combat. Then I might take what you say as possibly intelligent. MST. SGT. US ARMY, 82nd Airborne 77-89. The old addage stands: "Those who can't, won't, or didn't -just complain"

See...That's why they were maligning him as insignificant last week...They were anticipating this! Release away Julian, Americans won't care. We're too stupid, ignorant of current affairs, occupied by dancing with the stars, propagandized or busy keeping our head above water to be outraged. We'll leave that to the rest of the world.

Be careful. They're probably datamining to keep a list of everyone who visits wikileaks. Eventually they'll come to pay you a visit or, like China, block the site or just forbid Americans to visit it.

Mr. Assange serves us well with posting the truth, but then, so many Americans are brainwashed with the Mainstream Media, that all they have to do is demonize him, say he's a nut, and many of the faithful believe. Sad.

Tired of years and years of lies and spinning done by our own government. Let it all out. Let's see some real transparency for a change. In addition, bring our troops home and let them protect our own borders and cities. Stop bringing in muslim refugees our wars are making, as they hate us and wish to corrupt our systems from within. Sorry, stopping war will deny the greedy military-industrial complex profiteers from continuing to rake in their profits – - oh that's right, they are in power and will never let these wars end no matter what wikileaks discloses. Too bad.
