Haiti cholera outbreak kills 138, UN says

A fast-moving cholera outbreak north of the Haitian capital has killed at least 138 people, a U.N. official said Friday.

Another 1,526 cases are also part of the outbreak, said Imogen Wall, the U.N. humanitarian spokeswoman in Haiti. All the cases have been reported in the Lower Artibonite region, north of Port-au-Prince, she said.

"This is a situation that's developed very quickly. It's only been 48 hours and we've already got 138 deaths confirmed," Wall told CNN.

She called the situation "a serious development, partially because cholera is a very dangerous disease, and it spreads very fast, but also because it's unusual to Haiti," she said. "There hasn't been an outbreak here in decades."

Hopefully Haiti can get wiped out and stay that way this time. Lord Jesus obviously does not want that country to exist anymore for their anti-christian life-choices and is trying to show them a lesson that they just refuse to understand. This is why you follow His righteous path.

Christina. Yes, I believe you are right. That's why muslims were chosen for the earthquake driven tsunami strike on Christmas Day also.
The Russians were chosen, fortunately they made the right decision. I love the Russian people. There is not a more harder working group of self sacrificing people on the planet. Russian women are absolutely gorgeous also.
The Chinese were chosen recently and Pakistanis following that.
California has been getting warnings of an approaching catastrophic event but Arnold is ignoring them. He can't get out the front door fast enough with his genetically bred moonshine running wife.

Don't rebuild Haiti. The strong survive, these people are the weakest of the weak. Can build sturdy, mostly uneducated, terrible hygiene, let em all die.

I am not a Christian. The Jesus songs being sang during the first 30 minutes of the service make me feel uncomfortable. I am a religious reformer.
All religions should cast away and a new one for everyone started. Kind of diffucult to achieve though.
There is one person who can do it. Someone to meet and greet will be required.
Of course, this is all hypothetical.

Please understand that we, as a nation of people who profess human concern and passion for the world, are practicing a immoral kind of benign neglect when it comes to the Hatians People. I cannot fathom how the horrors of their plight and devastation was commericalized and politicalized, only to subject them to the impending dangers of a great many diseases, sordid conditions and virulent consequences that is a definite reality without the aid "promised".
