Kentucky teen crowned Miss World

Alexandria Mills waves after her win.

An American teenager is now Miss World 2010. Alexandria Mills, 18, is from Louisville, Kentucky. She won the international pageant Saturday in Sanya, China.

"It's a cliche but this really is a dream come true," she said, crying. "I can't believe it's happening ot me. My time has come. I'm loving it!"

Mills beat out 115 other young women in the 60th annual competition. As the final duty in her reign, Miss World 2009 Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar removed the multi-colored crown from her head and gently placed it on Mills. The first runner-up was from Botswana, the second runner-up was from Venezuela.

All these people tearing down an 18 year old girl must be huge grotesque creatures with missing teeth and forked tongues. No $|-|IT you don't like skinny girls. You're tired of skinny girls turning you down. Haha losers.

How hypocrical that we're hunting Lawrence Taylor in New Jersey as a "rapist" and the legal age of consent in other states is 16. The laws in this country are so Puritan it's sick.

I'm not a big fan of pageantry in general, but as someone who's adopted Louisville as his home town, I have to say, way to go! 🙂

Some human activities are just fun and frivolous. That doesn't make them bad activities. Looking at beautiful young women in art or in the flesh is always a pleasure because they represent the beauty of Nature and/or Creation in human form. What else should we look at and what should we compete for, who has the biggest gun collection? We already know what bad activities that can lead to. How about we just admire the lovely view from Kentucky and United States. Winning these things also takes stamina, drive and support. Good on her and her people for the win. Even a little good news is still good and worth celebrating.

This is not a hateful comment, just a simple question. Can someone please explain the point of these pageants to me? Is there more to it than just the prettiest dress and smile?

Thank God it wasn't held in LA. I don't think they would let that weirdo Perez Hilton into China.

To Lilarose in Oregon, you do not know how to express your opinion and the only thing you can comment is "Learn to speak and write English".

If you cannot post anything worth reading just keep your mouth shut.
