Condit: 'Never had any cross words' with Levy

Former U.S. Rep. Gary Condit, testifying in the trial of a man charged in the 2001 murder of Chandra Levy, an intern with whom Condit allegedly had an affair, refused to address the question of whether he had sex with Levy.

Condit told prosecutor Amanda Haines that it's been 10 years and he has never divulged whether he and Levy were intimate. Asked whether he would answer it, Condit said, "We've lost our feeling for common decency. I didn't commit any crime. I didn't do anything wrong."

The disappearance of Levy, 24, an intern for the federal Bureau of Prisons, drew national attention after her parents discovered a connection with Condit, who was then a sitting congressman. Condit was never a suspect in the case but was questioned intensively for details as to Levy's whereabouts.

Ingmar Guandique, a reputed member of the Salvadoran gang Mara Salvatrucha, is charged with killing Levy. Prosecutors believe that he attacked her as she jogged in a park and then killed her when she began to scream. Her remains were found more than a year later off a jogging trail in Washington's Rock Creek Park.

Condit said of Levy, "We never had a fight. We never had any cross words."

It's very sad, she ran into evil in the park. I remember at the time, the media did more or less believe Congressmen Condit killed her because most Americans did. That was a result of someone conducting a poor search, in the beginning, of the park where her body was accidentally discovered over a year later. Plenty of time to follow the Condit around.
However, I see the former Congressmen is still kinda arrogant. Snobby. He was at the time of her disappearence also. I mean one could now attribute it to him being innocent. But having listened to many Congressmen since then, the truth is (aside from Paul Ryan), most of them are stupid and arrogant. There are women dumb elitists too. Boxer and Pelosi come to mind. I think Condit was from California also.
Arrogant and stupid is a bad combination to be when caught cheating because the young woman is missing. He acted guilty. I still wonder if he hired the guy.
If he was from the South and it was 1850, I would understand him not answering that question.

I thought the fact that he refused to answer the quiestion about them being intimate was very kind...and he is right about our lack of common decents...at this point why would it be relevent??

Nat. It establishes exactly what his relationship is with the victim. Legitimate question.
Plus at the time, he didn't help with the search. He was more concerned with what his wife would think and that he was a congressman.
Yes, it was horrible she was murdered but he should have stepped up (he is still hiding by not answering the question though he says like a politician, oh let's not talk about that now because she's dead) and looked for her along with many who were strangers.

Who robs a jogger? I dont think she had any jewelry on and per what the report said also she had left her keys to apartment in there. Was Condit waiting for her after the jog? All of the Gang member's victims were not Joggers. Two of the victims said that the accused was not very strong , one said she overpowered him. The underwear that Chandra left at the apartment had Condits DNA on it . where Chandra 's body was found if you walk up the hill from where her body was you can see the view of Condit's apartment. Condit was the head of a congressional sub committee that had major secrets of the Unites States kind of makes you think maybe this was a coverup so Condit doesn;t go to jail .....!

Our court system has gotten calls from downtown that Guandique is a member of ms-13 and that he is working for al-quaida in which he is getting help from al-quaida to terrorize our legal systems and to blow up the US after committing individual crimes such as gas station robberies and murders, kidnappings of children and arsons of train stations and etc.. and we need the get extra security soon to help prevent such issues. We just want to mention that we are in danger if there is laxness of security and/or oversight issues downtown in the courthouse in the district.

The Levy case is generating national headlines across the world and Guandique has threatened several court judges recently and wanted to kill Chandra's mother Susan and dump her in a sewerand carjack a lady in the parking lot to drive to the airport and hop a plane for al-quaida territory overseas to have them come here to America and so called "end the world" and we want the world to know that the unexpected is what to expect. We really thank you all for your cooperation!
