News outlets publish cables leaked by Wikileaks

Details of classified U.S. government documents leaked by whistleblower website WikiLeaks were published Sunday by four international news outlets.

No documents had been posted on WikiLeaks, which said via Twitter earlier Sunday that it was under cyber attack, when five newspapers - the New York Times, the Guardian in England, Le Monde in France, Der Spiegel in Germany and El Pais in Spain - put details from the leaked documents on their websites.

The United States had warned WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Julian Assange that publishing the papers would be illegal and endanger peoples' lives.

Earlier Sunday, Wikileaks tweeted that it was experiencing a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack. That's an effort to make a website unavailable to users, normally by flooding it with requests for data.

@JoeM. Don't blame me for your lack of reading comprehension. I'd actually like this world to be peaceful, free of disease and poverty. My dream will never happen because all you little children bicker instead of doing the heavy lifting needed to help this world out of perpetual war and disease. I'm pointing out the obvious that Assange and the government are serving the same evil master. Why else wouldn't any problems ever get fixed?

@Protoman – Hahaha, so you're really just a hippie who believes a utopia is possible if we all just give each other a hug. OK, now I know I can completely discount whatever you say since you're probably on some LSD or ecstasy as we speak.

I wonder how much info this soldier released? Wikileaks is probably holding back. I guess they need the publicity and suspense.

So, the US is at war? Well, you might want to think who put you into this misery.

What's wrong to publish the evil wrong doings of corrupt governments? I like the idea to see those faces of those government jocks being confronted with their crimes.
I'd rather learn the truth than believing what my government tells me to believe.
Most governments are lying to you whenever they open their mouths.
You should always keep in mind that it's you paying your government to work for your wellbeing and not to control your lives and lie to you and send your boys into wars without reason.

Don't let your government keep you uneducated and unknowning. Remember, they are working for YOU. You should be in control of them, not vice versa.

@MasterKush – I know. Family is socialist but you don' hear them ever complaining about that. How about they pay back their families in cash for the million or so dollars spent on their ungrateful a**es growing up....

@Protoman...you have it backwards. Sheep don't choose their master. Sheep are peaceful creatures and know well the sound of their shepherds voice. Goat's, on the other hand, are stubborn and could care less who the master is. Most people are more like cattle...trodding down the same path day after day. Very few are sheeplike, and then there are goats like you.

This is good news.like it or not we have taken the role of protector of the "underdog" under the Monroe Doctrine. (no relation to Marilyn).Theodore
Roosevelt (who should be considered the greatest president of the 20th century)felt it was the duty of the
US to use its wealth & knowledge to help other nations.Undoubtedly, this duty has at times been used to line the pockets of the wealthy. However, there are many more instances when increasing wealth was not the prerequisite to our involvement.abuses have occured and they have been brought to light-not swept under a rug As stated earlier,we are at war and treason and espionage are capital crimes.
