WikiLeaks founder Assange suspected of sex crimes

Interpol has issued an international warrant at the request of a Swedish court for the arrest of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in connection with alleged sex crimes.

The Stockholm Criminal Court last week issued an international arrest warrant for Assange on probable cause, saying he is suspected of rape, sexual molestation and illegal use of force. Sweden asked Interpol to post a "Red Notice" after a judge approved a motion to bring him into custody.

The arrest warrant stems from allegations made against Assange, who is Australian, in August. In a November, Assange's lawyer said the sex-crime charges stem from consensual sexual relationships his client had with two women.

Umm...didn't the same thing happen just after he released the Iraq war logs, too? What a coincidence...they always seem to bring up charges of abuse whenever he releases new information. Anyone noticed this?

Can't you be arrested for being in possession of stolen property whether you knew it was stolen or not? Wouldn't you most certainly be imprisoned if you knew the property was stolen and accepted it anyway? Nothing different in this idiots case.

any sensible person knows that the authorities are trying to discredit Assenge to make us think he's a bad person. Whether you agree with his approach or not he is giving us the facts something my government doesn't have the balls to do

so property has to be copyrighted in order to be stolen? I beleive the files were the property of the government and taken without permission and against protocal. I'm pretty sure that could be classified as stealing.

Is it not – at the very least – a remarkable coincidence that an arrest warrant for this charge (which originally surfaced months ago) is only now being issued, a mere day after this man has made a great many powerful people angry for reasons quite unrelated to the charge at hand?

And let us consider the charge itself. Would, for example, a homicide charge have such a universally hostile reaction, given that some would praise this man as a freedom fighter? Is the particular charge being declared not the perfect crime to rally revulsion for this man?

How many perfect coincidences will the common man entertain before he is compelled to question the motivations of his information brokers?

I think it's ironic and funny that Assange wants to air other people's dirty laundry, but seems to have his own issues. Let the sunlight disinfect him too.... For those who think this character assassination – doubtful.

Apart of the selfish personal interest in being famous this does not help democracy at all, and this is not an isolated event. This has criminal intention and Wikileaks knows it. If we make public our plan in International affairs we are toasted, and whoever is behind this knows it and is guilty. Observe in the last year or so that each time that the life is in the path of going back to normal something happens, from oil spill which at this point in time nobody can denied the possibility of having criminal intent, through this last Wikileaks event. USA is a very critical process where the margin of acceptable error is getting narrower. One day something happens in Iran, the other in Venezuela, then the ex-president of Argentina suddenly dies from a supposed heart attack, now the president, her widow wife can go ahead with her plan of SOCIALIZE at Chavez fashion’s without the brake of her husband which had a different approach and was the rung that put her in the presidency. Then comes the Korea issue which as Iran every day come news of their unequivocal intention of acquiring nuclear weapons, and lately the attack to South Korea where the South Korea was in the verge of starting a nuclear war, and this danger is alive. Whoever wants to be thorough on this just gathers public information and connect the dots. I mentioned that this is not an isolated event because the intention is to block any possibility of US getting back to a normal orbit of functioning, and reach a new steady state. Russia signs a limitation of nuclear heads with one hand and signs with the other hand military deals with Venezuela, Cuba and Iran, as well as Putin receive the spies caught in US as heroes while one of the informer is found dead without any clue of how why and when. China keeps increasing its military strength at a pace of more than 10 % annually in the past ten years, in order to control vital route of international commerce, and so far playing dumb about North Korea behavior while keep supplying oil from what North Korea depends to survive. The circle of possibilities is getting smaller and smaller, and the best way to defeat this is going back to a normal in the economy, but here China is also playing a major role. China is everywhere from America, Asia and Africa conquering territories and buying out all that they can. Since they are key in the recovery not only for USA but for Europe they also can “influence” the conditions there therefore when the woos started last year with the Euro and Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Spain and Italy where in bankruptcy or close to it, the economy is affected here and now we have another wave of this. China is not God that can control everything but is doing all in its power in weakening US, thanks to Kissinger and Nixon, who never consider the lack of patriotism and limitless greed of the US entrepreneur which have severed draining USA job market for the sake of profit, on the other side they did not invented globalization, and the hyper liberation/minimum regulation of the economy, amid of the Chicago Boys advices, I guess that Milton Friedman should be proud and happy now. This salad of events are wearing out the American people, and this is the most important target here, to have USA in the brink of a social conflict of unknown proportions, and because never has happened before do not doubt it, remember September 11 had never happened before, and this terrible criminal act is for me the genesis of the rollercoaster that brought us where we are right now. Therefore I see this Julian Assange/Wikileaks issue as a spotted occurrence of the whole picture that is conspiring against USA and their allies, looking for a chaotic state that will be reached except something as bold as what brought us here happens and soon, and I am not apocalyptic, but we cannot turn our heads to the other side for terrible that the forecast can be.
