Snowed under Down Under

Australians usually can only dream of a white Christmas, but not this year. A freak weather pattern has brought significant snowfall to the eastern states of New South Wales and Victoria (pictured, Mount Hotham), RedOrbit reports.

Various locations reported up to 4 inches of snow, though The Telegraph of London reported as much as 11 inches in parts of New South Wales.

"It's white, everything is white," Michelle Lovius, general manager of the Kosciuszko Chalet Hotel at Charlotte Pass, told the Telegraph.

"First thing this morning everything was just very still, very peaceful and every single thing was just blanketed in a thick cover of white."

Tuesday is the first day of summer in the Southern Hemisphere.

It is so irritating that so many people still do not understand how "Global Warming" or "Climate Change" affects the weather!?!?!? Scientists have been predicting for decades that we will begin to see extreme weather patterns beginning to develop on a regular basis. What might be a "100 year" rain, snowfall, heat wave, or cold snap happens much more frequently as the temperature of the Earth rises. Global warming is not just about it getting hotter everywhere...it is much more about our various weather and climate patterns around the globe changing...in many cases dramatically. Stop hiding behind ignorance and fear of what is in front you...we will all be better off for it!

  3. Really?

Regardless if you believe in global warming or in climiate change, haven't you wonder why we are having record heat waves, severe weather like extreme floodings, etc? Look at the temperature difference in Florida between this time last year andnow, look at the record floodings in California, the snow storm in Europe and Austrilia. The earth is changing and pretty soon, we'll all be screwed.

    Happy Holiday!!!
