The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin has confirmed that former talk show host Montel Williams was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia at General Mitchell International Airport on Tuesday.
Williams was caught by TSA with a pipe commonly used for marijuana while going through a security checkpoint, a sheriff's spokesperson said. He paid the citation of $484 and was released to resume his travel plans.
Williams suffers from multiple sclerosis and is a prominent advocate for legalizing marijuana for medicinal purposes.

Apologies for the idiot remark ppl just saying
It is soooo stupid that marijuana is illegal and alcohol is legal. Marijuana is harmless compared to alcohol.
Amen, Carl. You would think all of the drunk driving arrests, accidents, and deaths due to alcohol would serve to illustrate that point. It's just that the rich white people in charge have always gone with the traditional drug of choice – alcohol. Minorities and liberals traditionally enjoyed the smoke. Hence, the reason alcohol flows freely, smoke is illegal or strictly monitored.
I don't care what you think of him as a man. Walk a mile with MS and then tell me if you would try marijuana. What a seriously uptight rule that you can't have "drug paraphernalia". The sooner all the states legalize marijuana the better.
i never werecked my car cause i only drink at home. mad dog 20/20 or some coors
Edward, did you even READ the article??
MMM... I love me some Montel u go boy! I wish i could rub that bald head. Thing lookin like a big ol milk dud. I wonder if he would feed me milk duds while i rub his head.
what i dont understand is why didnt he just nutt the pipe? put it in a baggie and tuck and roll.. i've been on dozens of flights to califoria and never had them check under my ..stuff..
Wow, you really do treat em' ruff.
If the drug is illigal y not fine everybody, does it matter if its for medical uses, not fair, not fair, either legalize it or fine everybody, but what ever they do,the governmennt should make up its mind, they make us make up ours. How many really bad drugs does the FDA approve of only to find out years later that they are harmful, but it seems that weed has remain a constant for a number of years.
people are alway going to smoke weed.. the legal insense stuff is way more dangerous than regular plain old weed
If marijuana was legal, the incense stuff would never have been invented. That incense (i.e. K2) is some seriously dangerous stuff. It's similar to marijuana in its effects, but marijuana is never likely to send someone to the hospital. K2 is likely to send anyone that uses it to the hospital at some point.
marines says montell heal yourself from MS.... Spoken like a true brainwashed marine
oh please the whole hes a marine ok marines for one, if ever diagnosed w MS while in the service would be discharged heck they would be discharged just if they have flat feet..i know a friend who was a marine, a few hours of labor alone and she was screaming like heck, and im no marine and went through long difficult labors and delivered naturally-big babies. while she had short, quick and small babies! wth! so can u imagine someone dealing w a lifelong ailment..illness..i will never promote the use of drugs..i myself have bad back problems from an injury and do not depend on pain meds, but i wont be quick to judge ppl w serious illness that will cause simply cause intense pain or offer a bad quality of life. unless ppl walk in those shoes, one must never judge. let the man be...he is honest, he does not ABUSE it which is the problem of many ppl..and he does what he does to improve his quality of life..marine or not..
A TRUE MARINE REFUSES TO ADMIT WEAKNESS, SOLDIER! Had to say it. But that kind of sheot is the reason I avoided a military career. Too brutal and restrictive, more like a full metal strait jacket. Bless the people who willingly take on that responsibility.
@Ruffie:
Yeah, but with the TSA's scanners, they can pretty much see your...stuff!
refuse scan and request anal probing..
Marines are not brainwashed...they're just extremely disciplined. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, either!
This is a non-story.
I hid my weed in my 81 camaro's tuck&roll interior
Decriminalization, NOT legalization. That's just my opinion. I don't want a government scentist to have liscense to put chemicals in my weed.
That is nonsense. They are not going to add chemicals to your weed. The tinkering you hear of in plants like tobacco is when they find some strain with a high amount of addictive chemicals they will breed it with high production plants to get those traits. It's just like the autoflowering weed plants. They took a crappy strain of weed that flowers no matter what time of year it is and crosspollinated it with strong strains till they got offspring that could actually get you high and had the autoflower trait. They are not sitting there in a lab pumping the stem with chemicals with needles like is going on in your mind I believe.
Decrim means it's legal to posses but you can't grow or sell it. That is in a word: silly.
Legal means it's legal to posses, grow and sell. Phillip Morris would be ready to pump out pre rolled joints just as fast as they could buy some bud. Businesses operate at low margins and would DESTROY the illegal drug trade fast like!
