North Korea asks South to 'open hearts,' resume talks

South Korean officials tell CNN that they're reviewing a call for resumption of talks between Pyongyang and Seoul that was  published by North Korea's state-run KCNA news agency Friday.

The statement from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea suggested several steps that could be taken to calm tension between north and south.

It expressed a desire for "settling the grave situation prevailing in Korea as early as possible and paving the way for improved relations between the north and the south and peace and prosperity."

The statement cited both patriotism and "public opinion at home and abroad" as reasons that dialogue should be resumed.

Officials are working to understand the motivation behind the statement, a spokesman for South Korea's Unification Ministry said. High-level officials will hold an internal meeting Saturday to analyze it.

We need to hurry up and just put North Korea out of it's misery- Nukes, B-52's, cruise missiles, let's just do it. Screw the North Koreans- let em eat sticks and mud and freeze to death this winter- they are the enemy, they are not my friend or my buddy...

Yea, 2100 is right, it is a back breaking job pulling those weeds from the flowery areas and green grass. Easier to just mow over it or use a weed eater, but those weeds come back and make any lawn look less attractive if you don't pull them from the roots. I'm sure Chrissy's hot, and the AZ shooter is going to get his.

North Korea open your heart to South Korea. How can you kill and attack the very people who are your very relatives? You give the olive branch without a thought. You must humble yourselves to nuture the whole tree...the entire family tree otherwise you will remain a bully to your brothers and those you should love.

North Korea needs to give up the ghost already. The US will NEVER stop supporting South Korea. It's not going to happen. Just decide to be decent and open your minds up to real talks and maybe the rest of the world will feel for you. I do feel bad for the people of North Korea though. You have to imagine most of them just want the fighting to stop already, but they are too afraid to say anything.
