Person of interest sought in Arizona mass shooting

Authorities are asking for the public's help to identify a person who is possibly associated with the suspect in Saturday's mass shooting in Arizona.

A gunman went to a town hall meeting at the Safeway supermarket in Tucson. Six people were killed and 12 others were wounded, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Early Sunday morning, investigators released a surveillance camera photo of a man who was seen at the location where the shooting occurred.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik told reporters Saturday that authorities were searching for a second individual who was a "person of interest" in the investigation.

He is described as a white male, approximately 40 to 50 years old. He has dark hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark blue jacket.

If you have any information about the individual, you are asked to contact 911, 88-CRIME or the Federal Bureau of Investigation at (520) 791-6974.

Haven't read every word so if this has been addressed -accept apologies. . What if the shooter was a fan of Rap music and maybe was influenced by that. The rhetoric from the talking heads and ex politicians would be endless and vicious. The singers and songwriters would be fodder for the pot stirrers forever and would be damned for inciting!!!!

Please click "Report abuse". This is very inappropriate. (Patricia should think about someone telling the world that she hopes someone would instead shoot Patricia's mom or brother or sister.)

"And it happened in AZ! A bigoted state." "Was hoping the gunman or shooter was going for Senator McCain or Arizona's governor! Don't like both." – You want someone murdered and you call Arizona bigoted?

I am ashamed to know I come from a country Matthew E where someone would knowingly incite others to violence and express the same kind of twisted mentality the gunman himself was warped by today.

Your part of the problem not the solution, Ignorant comment. Stop the Hate. The shooter had mental issues. The TP nor SP are responsible for this.

Matthew – I'm a progressive, and as liberal as they come, but this isn't the time for that sort of talk. I may disagree with Palin, but I don't think for a moment that she wanted this to happen. If we're not careful, if we don't turn this sort of mindless name calling around, we will destroy ourselves.

George Bush, Dick Cheney, Winston Churchill, Bigfoot, Amelia Earhardt, Tupac Shakur, and Elvis are also too blame, obviously.

You might want to add "kills for sport" to that, too.
