Person of interest sought in Arizona mass shooting

Authorities are asking for the public's help to identify a person who is possibly associated with the suspect in Saturday's mass shooting in Arizona.

A gunman went to a town hall meeting at the Safeway supermarket in Tucson. Six people were killed and 12 others were wounded, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Early Sunday morning, investigators released a surveillance camera photo of a man who was seen at the location where the shooting occurred.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik told reporters Saturday that authorities were searching for a second individual who was a "person of interest" in the investigation.

He is described as a white male, approximately 40 to 50 years old. He has dark hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark blue jacket.

If you have any information about the individual, you are asked to contact 911, 88-CRIME or the Federal Bureau of Investigation at (520) 791-6974.

Wow!! Palin came out quickly on her tweet to denounce this, and so has the republican party in full.
This is what you call damage control people. They are attacking the shooting by coming out in droves and denouncing it so the defense, come monday, will be that this is non partisan and palin, the tea party and the conservatives will be off the hook.
They are hoping no one remembers, nor blame Palin who is tied to them!!

    But they are wrong..

They are wrong. People are fed up. Palin may have had no direct role in this, but you have a Congresswoman on record who stated she felt threatened and was very uncomfortable with Palin's website. Now look what has happened. Palin could have used that opportunity then to repudiate her tone, but she chose not to. Not only Palin, but also others.

Interesting isn't it? This IS a political problem. He went to her for a reason or else he would have gone to any store or area to kill people but where did he go? Both parties need to listen to what the sheriff said. Be carefull of your rhetoric remarks, free speach is fine, but there will be consequences. To me, the type of negative bashing to the point of what Sarah Palin did with the crosshairs and her "death panel; remark was to incite the minds of the sick and deranged. Both parties, all people, need to start thinking before they spew their free speech.

LOOKS LIKE INSITE TO RIOT.. TO ME..... THIS KIND OF TALK IN MY HOUSE IS NOT ACCEPTAB;LE. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE KNOWLEDGABLE INDIVIDUALS.. BUT TAL;K LIKE THIS FROM THE NEW SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE... how far is this kind of talk going to go.. and then there is his siamese friend "mitch" his words are 'GET OBAMA... STOP OBAMA.... these 2 need to be removed from office...... the actions by these 2 are worse than the guy that called obama (A LIAR).... GOD HELP US ALL OF THIS IS WHAT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY STANDS FOR...... and you can add palin to that list!!!!!!!!!!!

We don’t have proof yet that this was political, but the odds are that it was. She’s been the target of violence before. And for those wondering why a Blue Dog Democrat, the kind Republicans might be able to work with, might be a target, the answer is that she’s a Democrat who survived what was otherwise a GOP sweep in Arizona, precisely because the Republicans nominated a Tea Party activist. (Her father says that “the whole Tea Party” was her enemy.) And yes, she was on Sarah Palin’s infamous “crosshairs” list.

Just yesterday, Ezra Klein remarked that opposition to health reform was getting scary. Actually, it’s been scary for quite a while, in a way that already reminded many of us of the climate that preceded the Oklahoma City bombing.

You know that Republicans will yell about the evils of partisanship whenever anyone tries to make a connection between the rhetoric of Beck, Limbaugh, etc. and the violence I fear we’re going to see in the months and years ahead. But violent acts are what happen when you create a climate of hate. And it’s long past time for the GOP’s leaders to take a stand against the hate-mongers.

He did not act alone. In his Myspace posting – “Goodbye friends. Please don’t be mad at me. The literacy rate is below 5%. I haven’t talked to one person who is literate. I want to make it out alive. The longest war in the history of the United States. Goodbye. I’m saddened with the current currency and job employment. I had a bully at school. Thank you. The Republicans always get bi-partisan and cooperative when one of their fringe fires a gun or sets off a bomb. I am tired of it. They never change and they will never learn that when they do not keep their sarah palins, glenn becks, orly tatz's & michelle bachmann's in line, innocent 9 year old girls often die. 2012 cannot come soon enough. We need to re-clean house.

n word is use on this link, u can make ur own conclusion on why there is still
racism in this country. Have this been done by M Vick...just imagine..

Why wasn't there security/police there. Does Congressmen not have their own security detail? If not, that obviously needs to change.

Members of Congress have no security detail. Changing that would destroy the American dream of the freedom to gather in a public place and exchange ideas with those who represent us in government without govt security watching us. We are a nation of 308 million people. The odds are that there are a few mentally unbalanced individuals amongst us. Rather than entering into a police state of fear and security....this nation needs to do more research and provide help for the mentally ill amongst us.

It is amazing that with all the high tech cameras for sale the photo of this man is out of focus and of horrible quality.
You see this all the time on news reports where some store was robbed and the police show a video of the robbery
and it is in back and white and completely blurry.

Then, they ask the public to call them if they see the suspect (person of interest). Its as if the cameras they use are from the civil war.

I bet he is on his way to Wasilia Alaska via the Tea Party underground. I wonder if Sarah Palin ever thought a 9 year old girl who loved democracy would die because of her careless words that inspired this violence. Sarah Palin is EVIL.

This is a very sad day for this country. I truly pray that the politics in this country get tone down. The violence spewed by Sarah Palin and her gun carrying tea partiers should feel really bad. I feared that violence would happen telling folks to reload intead of retreat....it is so hurtful that innocent people got hurt by this. Unthinkable that our public servants have been targeted for awhile now its worst since Obama took office. I would like to see Sarah Palin pay for this. Gifford even felt she was targeted by Palin cross hair.

I am truly sad and hurt by this. May god bless us all.
