Shot in the head less than a week ago, U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords opened her eyes briefly for the first time Wednesday, with her husband, her parents and other members of Congress in the room.
"It was extraordinary," said Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-New York, who was holding Giffords' hand at the time. "It was a miracle to witness."

Quite right,Jim. People,especially these right-wing fools need to quit using this tragedy for their political gains. Besides,it's better to be dead than to be crippled or blinded for life or otherwise disabled. These right-wing fools will do anything,however,to promote their agenda!

Who are you people to decide what dead is better than? People have been in comas for months to return and live healthy lives. Sounds more like there are those who fear her return.

We should be praying that God's Will will be done and accept it. Pray for her and others to get well. Tragedies like these should help pull this country, but from most of the comments seen here, it seems that most people don't care. They are cynics. How long before we become so desensitized by all the violence here that we will just drive past a wreck on the highway and not stop to help? We are heading that way. Mark my words! We need to go back to the old days when we cared what happened to each other and pitched in to help anyone who had problems. There's too much "I" in this country. We have become spoiled and hardened. God help us!

The system will never change If we allow people to own or cary guns that are not mentaly fit to have them. Lets do a back ground check on there sanity starting from child hood. Most of the killing is done by mentally challenged people that shouldn't own a firearm . Maybe Its time to change the system.
