A 1963 Pontiac ambulance that supposedly carried the body of President John F. Kennedy after his assassination was sold at a Scottsdale, Arizona, auction Saturday night for $132,000.
The price would have probably been much higher except that the ambulance's authenticity been cast into question before the sale, said McKeel Hagerty, president of collector car insurer Hagerty Insurance.
Some experts and bloggers had cast doubts on the authenticity of the vehicle and whether it had actually ever carried Kennedy's body.

LOL JFK was taken to Parkland Hospital in the car he was shot in, there was no ambulance. Someone got screwed.

It did not say it was the ambulance used to take him to the hospital.. it is the ambulance used to carry his body to the airport after his death.
This ambulance is 1 of 2 ambulances that took President Kennedy from the Airport to Bethesda Military Hospital and then to the Capitol Bldg where he was laid out for viewing.

Actually the statements above are ALL wrong!...the ambulance in question did not take JFK to Parkland, it did not take him to either Love Field from Parkland or TO Andrews Airforce Base and it most certainly did not take him the the Capitol. JFK, after being shot was transported to Parkland hospital in the 1961 Lincoln Continental limousine he was shot in...NOT the above ambulance. The above ambulance (if it was not the identical one crushed at the behest of the Kennedy family in the 1980s) did pick up JFK's casket at Andrews Airforce Base and took him to Bethesda Naval hospital but he was NOT taken to the Capitol building in it to lie in state. That was done on Sunday from the White House via a horse-drawn gun carriage. A Navy ambulance, quite possibly this ambulance did bring him home to the White House for the last time on Saturday morning November 23, 1963 from Bethesda after he was autopsied and embalmed there.
