American fitness guru Jack LaLanne died Sunday afternoon at his home in Morro Bay, California, according to his long-time agent, Rick Hersh. He was 96.
The cause, said Hersh, was respiratory failure due to pneumonia. LaLanne had been ill for the past week. His wife, Elaine, was at his side, along with his family and friends, Hersh said.
FULL STORY

I worked with Jack when we had Jack LaLanne Weight Loss Clinics within our health clubs back in 1979 thru 1981. I spent time with Jack touring and promoting the weight loss clinics. Jack was a very special person and friend to me. My mother adored him and met him several times. He didn't make it to 140 but gave it one heck of a run. My hear goes out to Elaine and Jack's family.
RIP. A man who changed with the times and was ahead of his time, promoting good health.
His TV show was one of my first TV memories, around 1957.
Enjoy your heart attack from eating too many donuts at half his age. I guess you couldn't make it to retirement age.
Simon, your a jerk!!!
I can only hope to live a long and healthy life like Jack!!! May you RIP!
Long life is a gift from God. It is not the length but the quality of good, loving God and loving neighbor, done with it.
Why would you say that?
Here's a guy that simply worked his whole life trying to help people stay in shape to live a better life.
He never preached-he never took any media cheap outs and he stayed his own man his whole life.
Jack-just like the rest of your generation -you were always a class act.
Rest In Peace.
Thank you for all you gave your audience.
^ j ^ RIP – MR. LA LANNE.

I can remember my grandmother watching him on B & W TV doing the exercises with him when I was a little girl. He was always inspirational. I think he helped get a lot of seniors up and exercising. God bless his family during this time.
i wonder if he ever experienced any illness, or hospital stays? just asking Ive known several people who are and have lived well into there nineties, and they never did much on the exercise routine.
R.I.P Jack LaLane, may you rest with the Angels.
I can only hope I live an amazing long, healthy and happy life as he did. I was always amazed to see how great he and his wife looked on the juicer shows. I hope everyone is respectful enough to only post possitive comments and their condolences!!! RIP Jack you were truely a legacy!!!
Weirdo...good thing you are still kicking and doing some good for humanity since good old jack went 4 years too soon in your eyes. Lets see what you got wrong boy.
@ Ryan H... Jack believed in the products he sold, and used them. He wouldn't promote a product he didn't believe in and use. If you didn't know the man personally, you need to shut your yap. He could have put you to shame physically, well up into his 80's, and hardly break a sweat doing it.
Somehow, Geo. Bush is behind his death.
Impermanence
farewell Mr. Fit
Rest in peace, Jack. You were an inspiration and a delightful man. <3
