As violence in the streets continued in Egypt, U.S. President Barack Obama convened a meeting of his national security team on Saturday, the White House said in a statement.
During the meeting, which lasted just more than an hour, Obama was updated on the situation in North Africa. He restated the U.S. focus on opposing violence, upholding universal rights, calling for restraint and supporting Egyptian efforts of political reform.
Among the meeting's participants were Vice President Joe Biden; National Security Adviser Tom Donilon; John Brennan, assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism; White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and senior advisor David Plouffe.

banasy. President Obama is using the same approach he used with Iran. He is staying in the middle. He is doing nothing. He could have armed the Iranian protestors and the Iranian nuclear weapon building regime would be history now and a democracy established.

What scares me is that this cursed Mubarak might just ride all this out just like Czar Nicholas did in Russia back in 1905 with his infamous "October Manifesto" which was never woth the paper it was written on!

Normally I think Jim is a bit over enraged about stuff, but he's right on this. Obama is a habitual fence sitter, and I totally got the fence post comment. This isn't a domestic social issue that he can say is above his pay grade. Even if Egypt did require some stern political structure to control the masses, Mubarak should announce his resignation and hold new elections. He's 80+ years old. Retire already. Enjoy life and all that money he stole from the american taxpayer. Go lay on a beach wearing nothing but Depends.

CaptainAmerica. Frustrated about stuff. Because I am usually right so many people attack me instead of my comment content often times disregarding the subject entirely. Then I go on the defensive by calling them names and swearing. Which is the correct procedure, in The Book of Jim, regarding those who know i am right yet they choose to insult me. Ignoring my valuable opinion instead of just saying, you're right.
And sure I admit some of my ideas are out there, but guess what? They are correct otherwise I wouldn't say them. You must have vision and understanding of the future. Look at the last hundred years. Do you really believe humans will survive another hundred years? More than a few gamblers would bet against humans surviving.
