Giffords' alleged shooter indicted on 49 counts

A federal grand jury has indicted Jared Lee Loughner on 49 counts in an indictment authorities unveiled Friday, prosecutors said.

The charges relate to a shooting in Tucson, Arizona, that killed several people and critically wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Arizona.

A grand jury indicted Loughner in January on three counts of attempted murder, including one alleging that he tried to kill Giffords. The new indictment includes those charges and adds several others.

It charges him with murder in the death of John Roll, a federal judge, and Gabriel Zimmermann, a staff member for Giffords.

It also charges him with causing the deaths of Dorothy J. Morris, Phyllis C. Schneck, Dorwan C. Stoddard and a child at a federally provided activity, federal prosecutors said in a statement.

I didn't even read the story on this one. Didn't have to. Doesn't matter.Judging by the smile in his initial photo, this dude did it for the fame. I don't know if I support Gifford, don't know anything really. I know I don't support him. Why CNN and every other news outlet in the world keep promoting him, I have no idea. He should be dubbed, "some psycho".

Ever since the Jan.8 shooting I noticed that not even once did the people in the right-wing news media ever say what it was that motivated this young man. Now we have all these ignoramuses blogging in here to demand his blood. Here's the right-wing mob mentality at work!!!

Take a good look at this guys face. It is unbalanced and his nose is distorted. I think his obvious problems stem from a great dissatisfaction with himself. I read his writings on his website right after it all happened and it is clear that he has some sort of mental deficiency.

More disturbing than what he did, is the fact that some people here are saying there should not be a trial. It doesn't matter if "everyone knows he did it." If we allowed the killing of suspected criminals without due process, we'd be no better than them.
